Exchange 2013 SP1

I am slowing building/configuring Exchange. I have SMTP smart host working. However the sent mail is rejected because of invalid domain person@mydomain.local. Where do I configure the system to have mydomain.com as the outgoing address?

Hi Guys,

I have installed 2- E2K13 Servers in E2k10 Exchange Organization  with the combination of MB,CAS roles (WIN2K R2 STD OS).

on First Server the Installation order I have followed is - E2K13 Software,SP1 Installed---I found the 2 health mailboxes created on  the server

on Second Server Installation order I have followed is - E2K13SP1 Installed(Because SP1 Cumulative it's include exchange base software also)---I did not found the 2 health mailboxes created on the  server

Troubleshooting Steps I have performed:
I have restated the Exchange Health Service twice  and waited for a while,  Health Mailboxes are not created
I have restated Second  Exchange Server  twice  and waited for a while,  Health Mailboxes are not created
I have Created the New Exchange on the Second Server and checked even after  Health Mailboxes are not created

anybody having the same issues and having the steps to correct the issue please point me to right direction.

Get Distribution Group Membership for a Specific Mailbox

Need some help.  I know that I can extract distribution list membership using PowerShell, but how do I extract the distribution groups of which a mailbox is a member?  Basically want to know what commands will let me get the distribution group membership for a specific user.

Anyone know?  I've been looking around and I think I can manage it with a filter, but I'm not sure how to get it done.

Unable To Manage Mailbox Due To Missing OU in 'User Logon Name'.

Hi!

I am in the middle of a migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013.  I am unable to edit one of the migrated mailboxes due to a missing OU in the 'User Logon Name'.  When I attempt to edit the mailbox I am presented with an error box stating the following:

Can't find the organizational unit that you specified. make sure that you have typed the ou's identity correctly

Once past the error box I notice that the OU is missing from the User Logon Name.

I can browse the various mailbox properties but am unable to make changes.  Other mailboxes do not exhibit this problem.  The Active Directory account associated with the mailbox displays the OU as expected.  If I pull down the menu for the domain suffix box it is empty.

We are running Exchange 2013 CU5 on Server 2012 R2 in a VMware ESXi v5.1 environment.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

Jesse

Disable automapping

If I set FullAccess rights on shared mailboxes using the Exchange management console, automapping is used by default.

We have a lot of issues with automapping. Is it possible, to disable that? Granting fullaccess using the Management console, should not set automapping by default.

I know http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh529943(v=exchg.141).aspx, but that's not what I am looking for. I really would like to disable it by Default. I mean there must be a script behind the GUI version of granting fullaccess, so there must be possible, to change that behavior.

Hi Exchange Experts,

I am having trouble installing Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1 into "Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard"

I may be confused as the message and the location the tip sends me to; I seem to have the required OS.  First time installing let alone using Exchange.  Looking forward to it, but error message is ambiguous, is hard to ascertain how to correct the issue.

Any help gladly appreciated.

Error message cut & pasted here below:

Exchange 2013 - Folders missing when importing PST to archive mailbox

$

Hello,

I'm having an issue when importing PST files to an Exchange 2013 archive mailbox using the command "New-MailboxImportRequest test -FilePath '\\server\e$\ArchiveExport\test.pst' -IsArchive -BadItemLimit 5 -ErrorAction Stop"

The import is running without an error and shows the status complete. The size of the archive mailbox is exactly the same like the size of the PST file!

But when I check the users archive mailbox some folders are missing. It seems that this happens only to default folders like "Inbox" or "Sent Items". Other folders are visible.

The mailbox import log shows the following:

16.01.15 16:31:56 [server] Merging folder '/Top of Personal Folders/Inbox [Inbox]' into '/Inbox [Inbox]'.16.01.15 16:31:56 [server] Copying 3 items, 4.789 KB (4,904 bytes). Skipping 0 items, 0 B (0 bytes).

If I start the import process again the log says the following:

16.01.15 16:46:54 [server] Merging folder '/Top of Personal Folders/Inbox [Inbox]' into '/Inbox [Inbox]'.16.01.15 16:46:54 [server] Copying 0 items, 0 B (0 bytes). Skipping 3 items, 4.789 KB (4,904 bytes).

So it seems that the mails are really there but just not visible.

I did some tests:

-      When  I import the PST file directly to the users mailbox (without parameter -IsArchive) I can see all content of the PST file.

-      When I add the parameter -TargetRootFolder "Testfolder" the whole PST content shows up correctly under that folder.

Can anyone explain this?

Regards

Office 365 disallows meeting requests from our product, causing a "not supported calendar message.ics" attachment.

Hello,

some of our clients are starting to switch over to Office 365, as will we in the near future and it is a concern for us that meetings booked in our service (which is totally external from any Microsoft product) are not accepted by the Exchange server running Office 365.

The same meeting request is received and handled perfectly in our inhouse Exchange 2010.

Here's an example email that we send.

I have tried formatting the ics files according to how Office365, Exchange2010 and gmail format theirs. Same result every time. In fact, it seems to me that the symptom of getting a "not supported calendar message.ics" has absolutely nothing to do with the actual format of the ICS file.

The email that actually lands in the Office 365 mailbox looks completely different from the one we are actually sending. By googling I have found the following https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2643084, but the iCal rules mentioned there are not even precent in our ICS-file.

Any pointer in the right direction would be of help. Thank you!

How to configure Exchange to gather POP mail from external provider, i.e. comcast.net

Exchange 2013 SP1

I would like SBS2008 exchange functionality that setup pop connector to access external mailbox, e.g.myname@Comcast.net, retrieve it and place it in my exchange mailbox, e.g.myname@mydomain.local.

I have googled exchange 2103 pop connectors and retrieve a vast array of conflicting discussions. I see POP & IMAP services in Exchange 2103 but I do not see how to go to external mailbox and retrieve mail.

Do I need additional software, as some say in Google hits, or can I do it in Exchange 2013.

Your help much appreciated.

E20120 SP2 CAS memory use

We have E2010 SP2 CAS on VMware.  2 sites (inet facing and non-inet facing), 3 CAS per site, 4 cores, 8GB mem. All of the CAS show mem use at about 7.5GBs very consistently, seemingly regardless of load, as seen from Task Manager.  The heavy users are w3wp processes and RCP client Access as expected.  RCA is usually around a 1GB, activesync w3wp hovers around 1GB and OLK Anywhere and OWA w3wp avg .5GB. The other w3wp avg between 100 - 350 MBs.  The AB srvc avg 350 MBs.  Our VMware admin reports use no higher than 5.5GBs of physical mem over the past 3 months, but I'm not clear even after talking with him what it's exactly measuring, , private working set, peak working set, etc.

We do have an ActiveSync issue we're working to fix.  Because of a reverse NAT at the edge the Async devices look like a single IP, so affinity is kept to a single site 1 CAS, and all proxied connections go to a single site 2 cas cause they're all coming from the same site 1 CAS.  The 2 servers getting hit with the Async devices switches from time to time, and there proc use avg spikes.  The other 4 CAS will have very low proc use, but no matter what the mem use stays the same on all CAS.

Is it expected that Exchange CAS services will use as much mem as is available, similar to the IS, or do these servers have the perfect amount of memory?  Is task manager not reporting correctly because it's on VMware?

Any feedback is appreciated.

I just installed Office 13. Everything is fine but I have no access to my files on the exchange server. What have I done wrong?

500 Unexpected Error when accessing Voice Mail rules

I am currently in a Exchange 2010 and 2013 on-premise coexistent environment.

When a user (including Exchange admin) tries to access another users OWA (having the appropriate permissions to do so) to setup Voice Mail rules, they get"500 Unexpected Error. An error occurred and your request couldn't be completed. Please try again"

It works fine if they access their own Voice mail rules.

MyVoiceMail option (in the Default Role Assignment Policy) is checked. Executing Get-UMCallAnsweringRule shell command outputs fine without any errors.

Thanks in advance.
