I've recently been tasked with looking into encrypting our Exchange 2013 databases. After spending most of yesterday researching BitLocker, it looks like the only benefit that would provide is in the event someone tries to steal the actual disk. Our Exchange system is virtualized, our hosts utilize a SAN, and its all physically tucked away in a lights out datacenter behind like four layers of physical security, so physical tampering isn't a concern.
So I guess the question would be, what benefits would BitLocker provide to organizations like this?
