I have an odd situation. We have our voicemail system integrated with our Exchange 2013 on premises email so when I get a voicemail, it shows up in my inbox. I had a voicemail a few days ago, and I deleted the message both in my email and my voicemail but the email keeps resurfacing. Not just once but multiple times. The thing is it has the same time and date stamp as the original but I get the notification that it is a new message. The voicemail server simply sends an SMTP message through an SMTP connector to the exchange server. Let me say that this has been working for 4 years without any issues. Now, I've checked the voicemail server and even restarted it, but the message still appears.
I've ruled out any issues with outlook and feel it's an exchange issue. I've run a mailbox repair on the individual mailbox with no success in solving the issue.
Any insights and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
