Outlook Contact Notes getting chopped short (Outlook 2010 on Exchange 2010 with multi devices syncing)

I have just found the notes for one contact within Outlook have been chopped/truncated (at about 1033 chrs, but hard to be precise as has some HTML in it, basic stuff no pictures etc) loosing the end of the note. Definitely not approaching 5k chrs.

I have seen some previous questions and answers (regards pictures etc, maybe a 5k limit) but none very specific and the one link to a helpful looking page is broken!

I am guessing this is due to one of the devices it syncs with via the Exchange 2010 Server (remotely hosted account on our ISP server)?
devices include -
-Apple iPhone 3GS on iOS 6.1.3
-Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8020) - Android 4.1.1
- HTC One X on 4.2.2
- Sumsung S4 (GT19505) on 4.22
All using the devices built in and standard mail/contacts software, all sync'ing via the one account.

I don't remember editing the contact's note on any device other than the desktop PC (Win XP 32bit Pro SP3), which I have done in the last 10 days.
If I remembered doing this via a specific device rather than the PC then I could try and replicate the issue, but I really can't recall doing that !!

Is there any issue with one or several of these devices having a limit to the size of note within a contact?
Is this a Outlook issue (does outlook/exchange have a limit for note size within a contact record?)?

Is this a known issue, if so does it manifest only if the note is edited, or if any aspect of the contact is edited ie adding/deleting a phone number (I might have done this on one of the devices!) on a MOBILE (non native outlook) device, or is this nothing to do with the Mobile devices at all?.

I have many contacts with long notes that are critical, and it might take months or years to realise that the notes have been chopped, as don't scroll down to check them in full each time unless needing something!

Any help or pointers much appreciated
thanks

PS, I have already posted on the following outlook forum, but have been pointed here by them!
