Certificate security alert - server.internaldomain.local mismatch

Hi Guys,

Posting this here because i'm out of ideas at this point.

EDIT: This is for Exchange 2010

First off I want to say that I did pour over information at length regarding certificates with exchange, the .local problems, virtual directories, etc.  I want to basically share what I've done first:

Changed the internal URL's for the following virtual directories:

  1. ActiveSync
  2. OAB
  3. OWA
  4. ECP
  5. WebServices
  6. InternalUri for Autodiscover

I've also created an SRV record within our internal DNS for the local forward lookup zone to force it to look at our mail.externaldomain.com, which is on a valid SSL cert.

My Problem

I'm still getting a pop-up for "The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site." for server.internaldomain.local.  As stated, I've changed all of the internal URL's for the virtual directories listed above and have run out of ideas.  Somewhere in our Exchange environment there issomething that is still tormenting us.

Any thoughts??  I greatly appreciate your help on this!
