Moving public folder to another server

Hi

Could you please advise me the best method for the following case with the public folder?

Ex1 - current public folder server , Ex2 - the new server

Both are exchange 2003

I would like to move public folder from Ex1 to Ex2 and decomission Ex1.

My Plan:

1. Add Ex2 on public folder replication tab.

2. Once all folders are replicated on Ex2, dismount public folder store on Ex1.

3. what is next? Will I have 20GB of EDB from Ex1 to Ex2 after folders are replicated? Will public folder be accessible from Outlook after Ex1 public folder is dismounted? Or Do I need to remove Ex1 from replication tab after all folders are replicated? What about the system folders? Can I move them as well maybe using pfmigrate tool? Should I archive and defrag the edb on ex1 before I add ex2 into replication tab? Will that help reducing replication time?

Thank you in advance.

Cheers,

Pwint
