Exchange Server - connection with other email server

Could someone help me with this question?

In my setup, the Exchange Server connects to a externally mail server. What I want to know is: how Exchange Server to connect to our external mail server, leave a copy of this email in external server.

I have a exchange server 2003 and a external SMTP email server
