Remove proxy or email alias for multiple users

Hi,

I am migrating mailboxes from exchange to office 365 but I need to remove the unrouted proxy addresses or email alias from bulk users. I wanted to use CSV file to remove a proxy address or email alias.

I have found a couple of scripts on google but somehow they work on OU level or single user.

Hi,

I have used a few sites to check and they tend to give different answers:

MX Toolbox, SSL Labs and CheckTLS.

I have a fully patched Windows 2012 R2, Latest Patches on Exchange 2013.

I have also followed this guide:

Hybrid server exchange 2013 with exchange 2010 environment

Can we use existing exchange 2010 OWA?  (I do see some client is OWA still use exchange 2010)

audodiscover.domain.com point to exchange 2010

Hybrid server only for migration email end point server?

Can we just add a hybrid server on existing environment and don't impact any client side ?

Migrate RightFax from Lotus Notes to Exchange and Outlook

Hello All,

We are using RightFax 10.6 for fax purpose in our Domino Notes platform. We are trying to move from Notes to Exchange and Outlook.

Any ideas or steps about how to migrate Rightfax from Notes to Exchange and Outlook. We have to keep the existing settings and Archives which we are using SQL DB for Rightfax.

Moving Messages into the Dumpster

We have a user who is on litigation hold. Their mailbox has gotten to the size where it's not functioning well. They are asking that we delete messages by date to get rid of some of the baggage. We need to move those messages into their dumpster for legal retention requirements.

My scripting skills are pretty weak so I came up with a clunky method....move the messages from the user (litholdmailbox) to a shared mailbox (repositorymailbox) and then from the repositorymailbox back into the dumpster of the litholdmailbox. One drawback of this is that I don't know how to specify the litholdmailbox dumpster as a target.

Step 1......

Search-Mailbox -targetmailbox "repositorymailbox" -Identity "litholduser" -SearchQuery {received:"01/07/2018..01/08/2018"} -Verbose -SearchDumpster:$false -TargetFolder "repository" -LogLevel full -deletecontent -Confirm:$false -Force

Step 2.....

Is this completely the wrong direction, and if not, can I specify the dumpster as a target?

451 5.7.3 "require basic authentication"

Suddenly, Exchange Server 2016 MX can't send mail to our Exchange Server 2016 Edge.

The error is: "451 5.7.3 "require basic authentication"

In edge, we have local administrator user. In MX send Connector we've configured  BasicAuthRequireTLS with that administrator user. In edge we use Tls, BasicAuth and BasicAuthRequireTLS.

Threshold Values of the LoadGen counters

May i know the threshold value of the tasks using loadgen tool inorder to test the performance.

Can anyone please provide links or information.

The below is the screenshot in which the sample tasks are provided. Can anyone please provide the threshold value of the tasks involved while doing performance testing.

Internal Email is shown in sent items but the receiver can not receive the email

Hello.

I deployed a test environment in lab with 3 vm computers. One is for AD server whose ip equals "10.204.166.43".  the second is an exchange 2016 server, and its ip is "10.204.166.34". The third is a test client computer which ip is"10.204.166.44". The dns server is all "10.204.166.43".

User test003(test003@zack.test) can send email to test004(test004@zack.test), and the email is shown in "Sent Items". But user test004 cannot see the email.

With Get-MessageTrackingLog shell command, I got log information like "EventId:FAIL, Source:SMTP, MessageSubject: Undeliverable".

May someone help me?

Exchange Certificate

My organization currently doesn't have any external certificate now i am planning to get a wildcard certificate *.abc.com however my server names are Server1.Corp.abc.com so please suggest how should i purchase the certificate.

As i have seen in other environment if the server name is not included in certificate the users get certificate error in outlook

Hi ,

I add the page on my website, Bing index my page yesterday but i am shocked today my page is remove from bing indexing and i retry to fetch my url of bingboat but it's showing "The DNS resolution for the host of the url (or the redirected url) could not be resolved." how can fix this...Pls help

Delete expired certificates exchange 2013

Hello, 

i have two certificates which are expired and ecp always prompt the invalid certificate. is it safe to remove outdated invalid certificates from exchange 2013 ecp and will not effect anything.

Read only access to users to their OWN mailbox.

HI , we have EX 2010 environment and i am trying to give read only access to user to their OWN mailbox , so they can not send or delete any mails from their mailbox .

This is Client requirement . i used Add-mailboxpermssion -identity username -user username -accessrights readpermission .

But is does not work , user sill able to delete mails from their mailbox ,

And if i remove "NT AUTHORITY\SELF " from mailbox permission it does not allow user to logged in to OWA .

Any suggestions on this,

On an customers Exchange 2013 CU11 Server on Server 2012 R2 I discovered, that there were hundreds of eseutil and conhost processes open in taskmanager.

eseutil 142 times
conhost 149 times

Any idea what that could be?

Error 1016 after moving diagnostics log files

Hi,

I tried to move all log files, including diagnostics log files, to another drive. Now I changed all of them back to their original location. Log folders are created again in the right place.

Also changed the REG key HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ExchangeServer\v15\Diagnostics\LogFolderPath back to 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\Logging\Diagnostics'.

Since I did this I get an error every few minutes:
Event ID: 1016
Source: MSExchangeDiagnostics
Error: Unable to match any connection strings from AD. SqlOutputStream: Cannot find connection string that matches site 'Default-First-Site-Name' with version '3.0' in the list of connection strings. Count: '0' Value(s):

Any idea how to fix this?

Exchange 2013 Edge server don't send DSN e-mails

Hello,

I have 1 exchange with Edge transport role and 1 Exchange with CAS/MBX role. Exchange Edge transport server don't send any DSN e-mails. All e-mails are failed with error

Public folder sync issues

We have Exchange 2013 and are using public folders, migration was completed from Exchange 2010 a few months ago and has been working as a single box successfully since. I am having an issue getting them to sync to the secondary mailbox. Below is the output from a few commands I have run. Everything looks OK to me but I am missing something.

For a reference the Hierarchy appears to be working because I have set one test client to use the "RRV Public folders" database and the folder structure shows up without any delays. I databases are located across 2 sites that are connected through a slow VSAT connection. I have given them 3 days to sync up and the primary box is 20GB and the secondary is 12kb, I assume this is the hierarchy information.

Publishing calendars online

Hello fellow Exchangers I have a question

I am running Exchange 2013 on server 2016. I would like to have a calendar published to the Internet. 

Basically, I would like people to be able to reserve a room via the Internet or something like that. 

I have read a bunch of blogs and everything says I need to simply click on calendar and publish online and publish. But I don't have this option I only have Publish to WebDAV which I don't quite understand. I did it with iCALx but it's not exactly what I want, and it doesn't seem to update.

Can someone help me figure this out I'd really like to be able to publish my calendar online.

PS, the calendar is a conference room, so I want people to be able to do something like go to the published calendar online, select to reserve it and if it is free reserve it.

whitespace not declining despite emails being deleted

trying to keep my DB from growing any more.

have been watching whitespace dwindle on my exchange 2013 server.

two exchange 2013 servers in DAG group.

was down too 17 GB of whitespace, and sent email out asking users to delete what they can.

had one user say he deleted 15 GB.

I can login to exchange admin center, and sure enough, it shows his mailbox 15 GB less that few days ago.

yet despite several people telling me they cleared out GBs of emails, whitespace keeps dwindling.

down to 13 GB now.

my question:

does exchange update whitespace immediately, or only after a backup, or after maintenance runs?

I had Deleted Items Retention at 3 days, and cut it down to 0 days this morning, but still not seeing what I expected.

is there something that could prevent whitespace from updating?
