Dear all,
I have installed MS Exchange 2013 and MS Exchange 2013 CU1 several times (maybe 10 times) on Exchange 2012 servers in different test environments. Sometimes the Error "C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\ApplicationHost.Config'. The configuration file may be corrupted."." was shown directly after the installion, or in some cases Exchange 2013 was running fine a view days or weeks and suddenly the Exchange Server 2013 is offline and shows this error in the event log. What is going wrong here, because I think this a generally bug?
I seem to have a problem with anti malware definition updates on Exchange 2013.
As far as I can see, starting 15-1 not one (1) anti malware engine update succeeded.

I "successfully" upgrading my Exchange 2013 server on Windows 2012 to CU1. After the installation I am noticing that OWA is very flaky, to the point that it isn't useful. So this is what I get.
Click on a folder in my mailbox, or People, or Tasks: Your Request Can't be completed right now. Please try again later"
When I can see messags and I click on one I may get: "Error: Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later." The same message occurs when I create a new message and try to send it.
This is a huge pain since OWA is not reliable to use whatsoever. Is there anything that can be done to make this work? Waiting another 3 months or more for CU2 is really not an option.
Any help or suggestions from Microsoft would be helpful.
thanks
Rob
Hi,
Clients cannot connect via RPC over HTTPS.
Attempting to ping RPC proxy mail.domain.co.nz. RPC Proxy can't be pinged. Additional Details A Web exception occurred because an HTTP 404 - NotFound response was received from Unknown.
I can confirm /rpc/rpcproxy.dll is working.

Hi,
We recently installed an Exchange 2013 server along side our 2007 server. The installation pretty much went fine and everything pretty much works. The only problem I am having is related to users in Outlook trying to send mail as mail enabled active directory contacts. If a user selects a mail-enabled 'contact' that they have "Send As" permissions on in Outlook when they send the message, it just sits in the outbox forever. There is never a client side notification of failure, however on the server side we see this:
[Process:Microsoft.Exchange.RpcClientAccess.Service PID:4480 Thread:19] Error occurred while resolving the Active Directory object for from email address field: '/o=DOMAIN/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=9a2df92108044340828d5b355daeabad-Drew
Alias'. Audit log will not be generated for this case. Exception details:
Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ObjectNotFoundException: The Active Directory user wasn't found.
at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ExchangePrincipal.<>c__DisplayClass4.<FromProxyAddress>b__3()
at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.DirectoryHelper.DoAdCallAndTranslateExceptions(Action call, String methodName)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ExchangePrincipal.FromProxyAddress(IRecipientSession session, String proxyAddress, RemotingOptions remotingOptions)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ExchangePrincipal.FromProxyAddress(ADSessionSettings adSettings, String proxyAddress, RemotingOptions remotingOptions)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.COWAudit.GetSubmitEffectiveMailboxOwner(MailboxSession session, CallbackContext callbackContext)
This happens on active directory contacts that existed both before Exchange 2013 was installed and new ones that we created just to test with.
This has all but crippled a good part of our business. Can anyone tell me what is happening?
Testing HTTP Authentication Methods for URL https://mail.domain.co.nz/rpc/rpcproxy.dll?cl-cas01.domain.local:6002. The HTTP authentication test failed. Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it Additional Details Not all the required authentication methods were found. Methods Found: Negotiate Methods Required: NTLMAny ideas how to get around this with the exchange connectivity tester? If I change from negotiate to basic or ntlm, I then have issues with clients on the local network.
This question doesn't pertain specifically to Exchange, more to the blog.
Whilst looking at a spam issue for a customer I came accross this blacklist: http://v4bl.org/ at the top of their website they have the tag-line: You had me at EHLO.
I'm wondering if this site has any relationship with the Exchange Team blog site, whether they are trying to imply a relationship, or if it is just co-incedence? I am always wary of any entity who are not completely honest.
Thanks for any thoughts.
Hi,
I'm aware of making an Inbox rule on Office 365, I'm able to make a disclaimer message but there is no way that I know of to format the text, I really need to change the front, size, colour. I also need to space out the text and enter empty lines in. Is there any possible way to do so?
Dear Experts,

Exchange 2013 w/Dag Windows 2012 Server Standard MBX1 MBX2 FWS CAS1 CAS2 I use ZenLoad balancer
We have several AD forest connected to each other with forest trusts. In one forest we have Exchange 2010. We creating linked mailbox for users which not in Exchange forest (we using AD migration tools for cloning users include SID). Everything fine except public folders.
For example we have forest A and forest B, in forest B we have Exchange 2010. I need to create mailbox for user in forest A. First of all I clone user form forest A to forest B with AD migration tools and after that I create linked mailbox. We have Public folders and I need to restrict some folders. So I found that:
1. If I cloned user without SID, only ONE permission in public folders works for this user: Default.
2. If I cloned user with SID, all permission in public folders works for this user.
If I check user with command:
Get-Mailbox user | select LinkedMasterAccount
1. A\user (user cloned without SID)
2. B\user (user cloned with SID)
That's why only one permission works in public folders, Exchange do not know about user from forest A and use Default permission.
One more problem we have. We need to clone user with SID, because we need to have public folders permissions in working condition. And we need for some users grant full access permissions to some mailboxes. For example user1 need to have full access permission to the info mailbox. I'm using this command:
Add-MailboxPermission -Identity Info -User A\user1 -AccessRights Fullaccess -InheritanceType all
After that I receive this output:
Identity User AccessRightsExchange found the user1 in forest B, because this user1 have SID history from forest A and grant access to user B\user1. Sometimes graded permissions works, sometimes not.
We haven't any problems if we not cloning SID. My question is: can I control users with linked mailboxes in public folders without SID history?
Greetings,
I am having a recurring issue with public folders under Exchange 2013 standard. It seems the public folder is being quarantined for some reason.
Some facts :
Database 'DB\SRV' has only one copy. This task is supported only for databases that have more than one copy.
I'd like to get this issue sorted out as Public Folders are an important part of our organization for sharing contacts.
Greetings,
Since presenting Exchange 2013 to our environment in a co-existent state, we are noticing users whos mailbox is still on Exchange 2010 they are download an old Offline Address Book. The database that these users mailbox is on is still set to download the 2010 version. I have even changed the database properties to point to the 2013 address book but the Outlook client still is downloading an out of date address book.
I have performed the following commands but the users are still not downloading an updated Address book.
Get-OfflineAddressbook | Update-OfflineAddressbook
Get-ClientAccessServer |Update-FileDistributionService
From their local machine I have delete the "Offline Address Books" folder from
C:\Users\USERID\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\ and started Outlook again but it still downloads an old version.
My mailbox is on 2013 and my offline address books folder has a file called "udetails.oab" that is around 1,139KB. My users who are on Exchange 2010 have the same file, but the size is around 690KB.
How can I get the OAB from 2013 to properly update the 2010 version?
Cheers
