Shared mailbox problem - can't open with fullaccess permissions
hi all
I can't open a shared mb i have created. i added fullaccess permissions for my account through powershell with automapping set to false. i removed it and added it again. i checked that the permissions exist by running get-mailboxpermission etc for the shared mailbox. the permissions all look correct. the mailbox does not seem corrupted.
if i add it as a separate account it autoresolves but i cannot open the shared mailbox - it says i do not have the correct permissions.
has anyone experienced this and resolved it?
i am close to deleting the mailbox and starting from scratch.

Im trying with ad/uc, mailbox account, log on... and adding that computer but seems not to work.

Queued move mailbox status after restoring databases from backup
Hello, i was in process of moving mailboxes from source database to target, when "something go wrong" and databases occasionally dismounted. I can't fix them quicker, so i'm restore it from the latest full backup (Windows backup), clean "Dirty shutdown status" and mount its succesfull.
Now a lot of users (~50%) can access their mailboxes, but another 50% don't have acess to their mailboxes and doesn't see their old mails, but new emails comes to them.
When i run Get-MoveRequestStatistics -MoveRequestQueue “Target Database”, it displays a lot of warinings and Completed move requests:
Users with Completed mailbox requests have access to their mailboxes, but users with Queued status hasn't.
Get-MoveRequest | Remove-MoveRequest displays nothing.
How can i merge mailboxes from source database and target and give access to mailboxes for users with Queued, InitialSeeding, LoadingMessages and CopyingMessages status?

Weird problem with Exchange and Win2003 DCs
Hello,
We have Exchange 2013 and Outlook 2010 up and running in a Win2003 and Win2012 DC environment. Recently we promoted the Win2012 to be the PDC along with all the FSMO roles. We're trying to get rid of the Win2003 DC, so during the last patch cycle, I turned the Win2003 DC off. Exchange was still running fine along with emails going back and forth, however I would see some messages in the logs, MSExchangeADTopology - "No Minimal Required Number of Suitable Directory Servers Found in Forest ABC.local Site ABC and connected Sites". I ran DCDIAG and everything looked good. It complained about the Win2003 DC being off, but the PDC was working fine and it was connecting to it.
Today we had a slight network issue and I had to restart the Exchange server. It came back, but I saw lots of errors related to not being able to connect to DC along with the same problem of - "MSExchangeADTopology - No Minimal Required Number of Suitable Directory Servers Found in Forest ABC.local Site ABC and connected Sites" Unfortunately, Exchange services wouldn't start. So I started my Win2003 DC and voila, everything started working.
So I'm confused now as to what and how to fix this issue. The only thing I can think of being different is that my Win2012 PDC does not have WINS, while my Win2003 DC does have it. I thought WINS wasn't being used since Exchange 2007, but I may be wrong. Can someone please suggest as to what I can try to fix this issue? Do I have to demote my Win2003 DC to get this working, but if I do, then won't I have the same problem? Is there somewhere in Exchange that my Win2003 server is hardcoded maybe?
Any help is appreciated.

Outlook OSX email ends-up in "Sent items" as not sent when Windows Outlook is open.

In our environment we're using a lot of MacBook Pro's running OSX. These OSX users use Outlook 2011 for Mac, Outlook 2015 for Mac (Office 365) and some use AirMail 2.1. Apart from their local e-mail client, they often also have an active Citrix session in which Windows Outlook 2013 is running.
We've noticed the following very strange behaviour:
- When OSX users send an e-mail from their local e-mail client AND the Citrix Windows Outlook is closed, e-mails will go out immediately.
- When OSX users send an e-mail from their local e-mail client AND the Citrix Windows Outlook is open, e-mails SEEM to go out of the local e-mail client, but when you look in the Citrix Windows Outlook, the e-mail is stuck in the "SENT" items and has an "draft" icon. It is NOT stuck in "Outbox", it is NOT in "Drafts" but in Sent items. On the local client, it shows as if it has been sent. See pictures attached. When the user then presses SEND in the Citrix Windows Outlook, the e-mail is finally sent.
In the attached image you see in the LOWER half how the e-mail looks like when it is sent from the OSX client. Just a normal e-mail and it looks to be sent. In the top half you see what the e-mail then looks like when I then see it in the Citrix Windows client. Notice the "draft" icon and the option to press "SEND". The e-mail is in the "Sent items" folder.

was not able to find to much documentation for this error. Most of what I found applied to a similar error with the PRX5 code at the end.

Certifcates in exchange
Hi
I'm moving to a new trusted certificate (Geotrust) in exchange. The current one is self signed. I have imported the new certificate, my questions is will any disruptions happen with users (Mostly Outlook Clients win7) when I assign services to the new cert?
My guess is no, but I just want to make sure as I have many users and I don't want to cause chaos.

Recipient limit the transport rule Exchange 2010 SP3
How can I increase this limitation of 100 recipients. When attempting to create another transport rule get the following message:
The transport rule can't be created because you've exceeded the maximum number of recipients that can be added to a message by all your transport rules. Your transport rules are adding 113 recipients, and the maximum number is 100. Reduce the number of recipients, either by removing recipients from actions in existing rules, or by removing existing actions that add recipients. Or delete existing transport rules that add recipients.

Outlook mailbox junk mail issue
I am used to access my outlook 2013 web app mailbox but from the last few days, some of the mails are coming as a junk mail that were earlier coming as normal mails .The mails from those email id's are going from junk mail to quarantine list and then in the mailbox as 'quarantine@messaging.microsoft.com'.However, i turned off the automatic filtering and there are no mail id's listed in the blocked senders list.
How can i make those mail id's to come to my inbox directly instead of getting it as a quarantine message in my inbox.

Hide Address List on Exchange 2013

Our Exchange system has a mailling list for a sub company. (ML)
We are trying to configure the ML and all people in that ML cannot be searched on GAL by other people (outside ML group)
But still keep people in that ML can look up other people on GAL.
I wonder that whether we have kinds of solution for this?

Hi ,
We are using exchange 2013. Now we want to make it live so that users are able to send and receive the emails from outside.
We have one website running , and we have a static ip connection from local ISP.
Now , what are the things i need to configure on webhosting server , where my website is running . Do I need to create a MX record and point it to my local office static ip , which is provided from my ISP.
What I need to defined in A Record settings..Is it the same IP , which is provided from my isp..
Also , Do i need to open only port 25,110,143,993,995 on my router or other ports too...

Removing a default database
Hello!
One more strange issue: in all my deployments of Exchange Server 2013SP1 I always start from removing a default mb database and I never had any problems with it. The procedure is ~ as follows:
1) I create a new mailbox db.
2) Get-Mailbox –Arbitration | New-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase “NewDB”
3) Get-Mailbox –Monitoring| New-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase “NewDB”
4) Get-Mailbox | New-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase “NewDB”
5) Make sure Administrator account has been moved to the new db.
6) Delete the default db.
7) Restart
8) Log on to ECP as Administrator.
Today the two new installations end up with the following error on 8) "Log on to ECP as Administrator":
The IIS log shows this:

Looks like the Administrator's mailbox has not been moved into the new database, butGet-MoveRequest and Get-Mailbox... showed that Administrator's mailbox was really in the new db.
Moreover, right after deletion of the default db (after item 6) I signed out from ECP and logged back to it - the logon was successfull (at this moment the default database had been already deleted!). And only after restarting the server it started showing this error.
While logged on as Administrator I created one more exchange administrative user account in the new db - it doesn't experience any issues with logging on to ECP.
No errors show in any Windows logs.
What should I check in this situation?

Exchange 2013 Rules
Hi,
I'm trying to find out if we can have a server or client side rule that will only run monday to friday,
We need emails that come into a mailbox during these times to be deleted but need them to come through on weekends.
Is this possible?
