single server - Windows Server 2012 R2 and Exchange 2013 Standard

Exchange mail flow is working but couldn't access OWA
checked IIS and the Default Website is stopped, tried to restart but no luck
clicked to View Virtual Directories and don't see any?
Exchange Back End is running and the virtual directories are there
Was going to recreate the Default Website virtual directories using power shell but it fails to connect
winrm qucikconfig shows it's already setup and running

How to correctly recreate the virtual directories for the Default Website without access to ps?

update:
Since I can't connect to Exchange Shell Management, I added the snapin to Windows powershell.
I then ran the following commands, substituting my server name for ServerName:
Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory “ServerName\owa (Default Web Site)”
Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory “ServerName\owa (exchange back end)”

This seemed to work, asking me for confirmation, so I then attempted to run the following commands, substituting my server/domain:
New-OwaVirtualDirectory  -InternalUrl “https://ServerName/owa” -ExternalUrl “https://mail. domain.com/owa”
New-OwaVirtualDirectory  -InternalUrl “https://ServerName/owa” -ExternalUrl “https://mail.domain.com/owa” -WebSiteName “Exchange Back End”

But this failed for each, returning a message that the website doesn't exist?
Of course they don't, so this makes no sense?

Hi all, this happens about twice per hour and started some days ago, no reconfigs etc that should make it do that as far as I can find. Have been running CU6 for some months without this happening until recently.

And I'm not so into exporting/importing those XMLs.. I have only one E2013-server also.

Hope someone can clarify this. I was thinking of installing CU7 if that might fix it, but I'm not sure if I dare in danger of running into trouble with things not working as they should.

I am trying to retire one of my 3 public folder servers.  I have moved all the replicas already.  Get-PublicFolderStatistics -server 'servername' returns only 1 folder.

I have Exchange server 2013 with 4 Mailbox servers and I have DAG: DAG1

I need to enable archiving for all users but i have limitation for disk spaces on the mailbox servers so i will install another mailbox server for archiving purpose.

my questions :

can i add archiving database in my DAG?

Can i create another DAG : ARCDAG and put the 2 new mailboxes servers for archiving as a members and with this solution i will avoiding to have a copy from archiving database on the 4 mailbox servers which member in DAG1 cause i donta have fress space on that servers and i will have 2 new servers mailbox server for archiving purpose and the will be members in different DAG : ArchDAG

is it possible ?

what is the consideration ?

how can i calculate and sizing the archiving Database depend on the actual Mailbox DB i have.

I have a exchange server running and I able to map a browse to open on my outlook by creating manually a folder and go to folder properties, Home Page and type there the URL of needed and it´s done. Once I open that folder the URL displays there.

So how do I do it automatically, in order to this configuration appears in all exchange users inbox tree.

I hope someone can help. I am continually getting SCOM alterts with the above appearing for all 3 of our CAS servers. Also, intermittently, I am unable to logon to the ECP (either using the DNS round robin name given to all the servers, or the server URLs themselves).  The full email is pasted below. Hi,

I want to let my users manage distribution groups they're designed to be manager.

So I edited the Default Role Assignment Policy and I checked "MyDistributionGroups" but not "MyDistributionGroupMembership".

But when I login with a user on its ECP, he can see "distribution groups I own" (exactly what I need) but he can also see and browse "distribution groups I belong to" (exactly what I don't want)

How could I hide the "distribution groups I belong to" feature for end users ?

I'm testing a DAG failover in my test lab (Exch1 and Exch2 = both CAS and MB, test database is being replicated from Exch1 to Exch2, CAS roles are fault-tolerant by using DNS round-robin) and would like to have a couple of questions clarified:

1) When only one server is online - be it Exch1 in case Exch2 has not been started yet or Exch2 when Exch1 is turned off simulating failover - the mailflow becomes extremely slow: I can send/receive mail both in OWA and Outlook 2013 but mail is being RECEIVED (NOT SENT!) very slowly. Navigating between various ECP panes becomes very slow as well.

Q1: Should there be any performance degradation when one of the servers is not working (I think we can cut the extra time needed for reconnecting from Exch1 to Exch2 out of equation)?

Q2: Suppose the following situation: Exch1 hosts the active db copy, Exch2 hosts the passive one. Both servers are turned off. I turn on Exch2 only. Should in this case failover succeed?

We are using Microsoft Exchange 2010. I had a few employees approach me wondering if the Calendar mailboxes that we setup, when they look at the availability status of the room, it only shows the user who booked it and does not show the subject line of what the meeting is about.

They were wondering if someone sends an a meeting invite and books a room that it would add the subject line of what the meeting is all about and the person's name so when someone looks at the room booking it would state the person's name with the meeting name instead of just the person's name.

I have mailboxes on an exchange 2013 server than need access to public folders on a 2010 server before I migrate them over.  I followed the commands in the TechNet article with the subject "Configure legacy public folders where user mailboxes are on Exchange 2013 servers" (sorry, I wasn't allowed to insert a link because I wasn't verified?).  The problem is when I run the last command of "Set-OrganizationConfig -PublicFoldersEnabled Remote -RemotePublicFolderMailboxes ProxyMailbox1,ProxyMailbox2,ProxyMailbox3" on the 2013 server, using the mailbox name I had created, it says it cannot be found.  Of course I checked and the mailbox exists, is configured properly, and so is the new database.  The 2013 EAC also sees the mailbox with no issues.  Can someone tell me why I am getting this error?

I found that an entry log we have "Succeeded" field and "Error" field but seem that I always see that the "succeeded" is TRUE and the "ERROR" is BLANK in any cases.

So I wonder that how can we log an audit with "succeeded" is FALSE. Can anyone give an example for me please?

I have a working PowerShell script that sends automated mail when a new user mailbox is created or enabled on exchange server 2013, this works fine except that the images and logos in the html file does not display.

I have read somewhere that you have to add the images as a linked resource.

Anyone know the solution to this?

Ok, I have setup many resource mailboxes.  You go into Resource In-Policy and Out-of-Policy Requests and check the boxes selected recipients, and all emails goes to the delegate.  The resource policy tab and specify the delegates and tick the box to forward.

Problem: Shared mailboxes do not have all that in the EMC.  So I am trying to do the Shell to make this happen.  

Rewind: The purpose of this account is really a vacation calendar for a group of people.  A new person has taken the role, and I have added that person exactly like the other person.  They have the send on behalf of and full rights to the mailbox. So do 2 other people (including the old manager).  The old manager is still getting the notifications and the new one (and the third person) is not.  I am comparing the get-calendarprocessing |FL of this and another account and I am really not seeing the right change.  Also the second person appears to be on there the same way and is getting the notifications.  Thoughts?  ALso my hands are tied as I cannot remove the other 2 people.  So what can I change for the new manager to get the calendar requests.

I've just installed Exchange 2013 at a customer.

The servers are logging Event ID 3018 every hour. We know why and the network group have let the servers bypass the proxy now so the alarm is gone.

BUT the customer wants to know why Exchange needs to contact this URL every hour. Is it needed?

Been working in an environment that's in the middle of a poorly planned migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013, however, when setting up a new Outlook profile on a internal client machine, I get an cert error for autodiscover.domain.com, m.domain.com and mobile.domain.com To resolve the cert error, I made a DNS entries for all three names and point it to the new 2013 server, however, I'm not sure where m.domain and mobile.domain.com is configured in the environment since they seem to use owa.domain.com for URLs.  A wildcard certificate is used in the environment which is why making the names in DNS resolve the cert error.

Any ideas what I can check to see why a connection to m.domain.com and mobile.domain.com is being attempted?
