SCOM error - ECP Health Set unhealthy - Failure Reason - CafeFailure

$

Hi,

I hope someone can help. I am continually getting SCOM alterts with the above appearing for all 3 of our CAS servers. Also, intermittently, I am unable to logon to the ECP (either using the DNS round robin name given to all the servers, or the server URLs themselves).  The full email is pasted below. Really not got much of a clue on this one and, it would appear, neither does google. Any ideas anyone?

Exchange 2013 Spam

$

Hi,

Is there a way to block partial email addresses?

We are plagued with one spammer where everything before the @ sign is a constant and the domain name is just different everytime. I'd like to add a rul to permantly delete 'ViagrCiali@'. I looked into Sender Filtering but every example I've seen so far uses the entire email address with domain. This is pointless having a list of a thousand email addresses and a rule like: ViagrCiali* or ViagrCiali@* would be perfect.

At the moment, these messages are being sent to Junk automatically but when users complain to the boss who demands I do something about it I need to look into it. Of course, Open Proxies are used the majority of the time and I can see that by viewing the message in Spamcop.net.

Exchange is plugged into Spamhaus and Spamcop and is getting caught but now I need to take it one step further to make sure  it's deleted rather than in the Junk folder.

Your help and advice would be most helpful! Thanks

E-mail Address Masking in Exchange Online

$

Hello Experts,

We got a situation with a vendor where the Outgoing Conformation Emails to customers from Dynamics CRM need sender’s address masking.

I.e.

feedback@crm.domain.com

But when the customer look at his inbox, he should see:

feedback@domain.com

How this can be handled in Exchange online? Did anyone face same issue in past? Any pointers on this shall be a great help.

Regards,

How does it work?

Hi,

I have a customer who has a Microsoft Exchange Server Account for their email, they are paying a substantial amount each month to have this and they really do not need to be paying so much.

They want to move their hosting away and just have a straight forward IMAP account, if they change Name Servers will they lose all of their emails, or are their emails actually stored on their PC?

Thanks in advance

Permission to distribution groups

Hi all,

we have lots of distribution Group and some are open for everyone to send, but others have to be granted permission.

We have a main DL list where all other DL lists are added.

EX: DL.Company.ALL

If we grant permission for a user to send to this list,he wont be able to send to other list below that has restrictions as well.

Is there any way we can "enherit" permission from top of?

A bit wrong from Our side, but we kind lost track of which DL list has restricted permission or not.

Is there anyway we can export this out?

Best would be enherit from top of.

Thanks!

Is 'time of read' stored anywhere?

$

I have recently been playing with the EWS SOAP API and it seems that whilst there is the *IsRead* property that can indicates if a mailbox item has been read, there is no datetime associated with this flag. Is that correct?

If it is not accessible via EWS, is that date stored anywhere by the exchange server?

Thanks

John

Help with cross-forest Exchange migration 2010 to 20103 - migrate Free/Busy data for users

We are in the process of moving completely to a new domain, including a new Exchange server. Though I have successfully migrated an Exchange account, the Free/Busy data did not migrate with the user. If someone can provide any assistance, or even the steps on how to migrate an Exchange user, including their Free/Busy data, it would be greatly appreciated.

Removal of TLS 1.0

Hello

We have Exchange 2013 w/ CU8 and everything patched up from Windows update.

Recently our PCI scanner has required that TLS 1.0 not be used to pass compliance. So using Qualys IIS Crypto I used the PCI template and unchecked TLS 1.0. Restart the server. After restart I can get to OWA/ECP login screen just fine. It shows it is using TLS 1.2. However if I login it I get a blank page.

If I try Outlook 2013 it will not load the profile. If I try to test the AutoConfiguration I get unable to determine settings.

If I go back recheck TLS 1.0 and reboot, everything works fine again.

There seems to be no errors in the event logs related to this.  If I go into the HttpPrpxy log I see:

calendar permission after migration to Ex2013

two user migrated to 2013 from 2007 are unable to create appointment/mtgs on mailbox/calendar that is still on the 2007.

They have added the Room calendar to outlook and are able to see it, but when they try to add an appointment, the option of adding/editing an appointment is grayed out.  an appointment that has already been created, a message comes back saying they don’t have permissions.

using web mail, they get " YOU DONT HAVE PERMISSION TO CREATE AN ENTRY IN THIS FOLDER."

they have author rights to the calendar.

I did removed them and re-added them to the permission list, but it still does not work. I also deleted / added the
calendar from their Outlook.

Hi All

I am in a position of doing cross forest migration. Source Exchange is 2007 and target 2013.In the source mail box has got recipient limit set(ex 50). currently we are in a co-existence scenario. when a migrate user send a mail to many distribution list the user receives too many recipients error. which is generating by the remote exchange server(source). Is there away to overcome the issue without increasing the recipient limit on the source enabled user?

Exchange Server 2013 Pre-Requisites

I'm trying to setup an Exchange 2013 SP1 Edge Server on a Windows Server 2012 R2 platform. Taking a look over the prerequisites here, it's obvious that .NET Framework 4.5.2 is needed. However if one starts the Exchange setup, without installing this particular version, it will complete successfully based on the .NET Framework 4.5 that ships with Windows Server 2012 R2.

So is the Microsoft prerequisites article somehow pointing to a recommended version, taking into account issues with .NET 4.5 such asthis one ? Or is simply a mistake on that page and in fact it should read .NET Framework 4.5 ?

Hi, I have two Exchange Server, ServerA and ServerB. I would like to copy DatabaseA from ServerB to ServerA. I used EMC to "add mailbox database copy" but found below error. I checked the databaseA.edb had been copied to ServerA. The log folder is empty. I checked the services of two Exchange Server, the Microsoft Exchange Search Indexer is running.

Migrating Public Folders

We finished our Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 about 3 months ago. We migrated the small amount of Public Folders that we had and everything seemed to be ok. I had some errors indicating that the 2013 database were pointing to the deleted public folders database. I removed those entries through adsiedit. Still every thing seems fine. I am now looking at the OrganizationConfig and see that it show the PublicFolderMigrationComptete is true. It also shows the PublicFoldersLockedForMigration is true.  To correct this is it just a matter of setting this value to false, unlocking the public folders?

Bing Maps Streetside Explorer disabled in Chrome Browser

I was directed here by the Ask a Question forum and hope I'm in the right place.

I recently switched to Bing maps after becoming disgusted with Google maps new update. Bing works great in Firefox, but now Firefox has problems, so I'm using Chrome. BUT Chrome does not support Silverlight, the display engine for Streetside Exploring in Bing maps. They consider it insecure. I understand that by September, Firefox will also kill Silverlight access.

How are we supposed to access Silverlight services moving ahead?

Hi I am using Exchange Server 2013

My Exchange server is exchange.mydomain.com and my urls are with mail.mydomain.com.
DNS Records for Exchange: I have A, PTR, MX record for mail.mydomain.com with 192.168.1.10(ISP).
When it comes to mydomain.com i just have A record with 192.168.1.11(ISP) , Do i also need PTR record for mydomain.com

Will the PTR ip 192.168.1.11 should map to mydomain.com or mail.mydomain.com, Here some confusion as i will come up with spf record. So need to configure dNS records correctly.

dynamic to security group creation

I couldn't find Exchange 2007 discussion forum so I hope this is OK to ask this question here...

I have a security system (for access ID security badges) that is able to query AD Security Groups to assign certain permission to each user.  We need to identify 10 mouth employees.  These employees AD accounts are in several diferent OU's so I created a query based dynamic distribution group for 10 month employees..  However, our security system cannot see dynamic distribution groups.  Can anyone think of a way how I can make a security group from this dynamic distribution group?  Maybe something like a script to export users from the Dynamic group  I haven't tried anything yet hoping someone out there has had the need for something like this already.  thanks

Calendar Mailbox question

We are using Microsoft Exchange 2010. I had a few employees approach me wondering if the Calendar mailboxes that we setup, when they look at the availability status of the room, it only shows the user who booked it and does not show the subject line of what the meeting is about.

They were wondering if someone sends an a meeting invite and books a room that it would add the subject line of what the meeting is all about and the person's name so when someone looks at the room booking it would state the person's name with the meeting name instead of just the person's name.
