After creating exchange trust, I cannot sent emails.

We have setup Active Directory forest trust and we used FIM2010 R2 for GALSync. All the contacts have been created in the two forest. from one forest I can pick the contact from the address book and send an email without problems, but from the otherside I try the same but the emails are bouncing.

On the bouncing emails, I can see that the originating domain is added automatically to the contact, I don'know where it comes from. this how the error message is generated:

Generating server: MBX.sendingdomain.local (Sending Server)
IMCEAEX-_o=Sendingdomain_ou=Exchange+20Administrative+20Group+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_cn=Recipients_cn=4fa2eac26060455ba1247480dde343d7-test+user1@sendingdomain.com
Remote Server returned '550 5.2.0 RESOLVER.ADR.BadPrimary; recipient primary SMTP address is missing or invalid'
Original message headers:
Here the Sendingdomian is where the email is originating from not the destination domain.
The email address of the recipient is test.user1@receivingdomain.com but I dont understand in error message why it put the originating domain instead of the destination domain.
Looking at the contact properties of I can see only this line in the email tab
SMTP:test.user1@receivingdomain.com
The exchange trust is between Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013.
I don't know if someone else has seen this.

Exchange SSL certificates

I have replaced the digicert SSL certificate on each of our Exchange and CAS servers with a SHA2 certificate, however, OWA is still reporting it uses a SHA1 certificate.

Looking in the ECP console under Servers > Certificates, I see each server has the digicert certificate plus 3 self signed certs, all of the self signed are SHA1 (see image)

How do I replace these with SHA2 and which of them is the one used by OWA?

I am trying to find a way to forward the subject line of email to external email addresses.

Scenario:  I have contractors that only have email through OWA, they do not always check it obviously.  I need a tool that can forward the subject line only to an external email address outside the Exchange server.  Yes, it has to be subject line only.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I am try to set up using ADFS for OWA authentication. I follow this post and try to do this.

The problem is  when I try to enable enable AD FS authentication on the OWA in the powershell, it said I need to enable AD FS authentication on ECP First. Is it true? I only want to enable ADFS for OWA, not for ECP.

Hello, anyone know any tool that export data from a mailbox of a EDB to PST?

I need to retrieve messages from a user and perhaps the EDB is corrupt, we are not sure.

But if you know any tool that exports at least a healthy EDB, may already help.

Wait!

Two Autodiscovers same SMTP name - Exchange Resource Forest

Hi people!

I´m working in an Exchange Resource Forest Migration. I´ve deployed Exchange Resource Forest (2013) in a new Domain and I´ve created a trust between Account Forest.

In this account forest, exist an Exchange Server 2007 SP3. I´ve configured prerequisites to migrate mailboxes from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 (Resource Forest) (Connectors, accepted domain...)

The SMTP name is the same in both Exhange.

I´ve started to migrate the first mailboxes succesfully. But, when the mailbox is migrate I only can access it by OWA. When I open Outlook, It doesnt change the configuration of Exchange server.

I´ve tried to change manually the configuration, but I understand It ask autodiscover (Exchange 2007) and It doesnt find the mailbox in Exchange 2007 because It is migrated to Exchange 2013. (Computer Account and user account is in Account Forest and Mailbox is in Exchange Resource Forest, using a Linked Mailbox).

In Exchange Resource Forest 2013 exist two accepted domain:

- ERFdomain.local

- company.com

Domain Company.com exist too in Exchange 2007 and it is the Default Domain in both Exchange.

If I configure email address using ERFdomain.local in Manually configuration in Outlook, it works!

I thinks is an problem between Autodiscovers...

How I can configure two autodiscovers in Users Accounts Forest? During the migration (3000 mailboxes) I will need both autodiscovers. Is it possible??

Any suggestion?

Best Regards!

Exchange 2013 host multiple domains

Hi All I was wondering if it is possible to host multiple domains with Exchange 2013. Ideally I would like to have two or more completely separate domains where Outlook would be able to connect seamlessly to anyone of the domains. I have tried making Exchange authoritative for for both domains but all it seems to be able to do is add mailboxes to a existing account. I don't know if this is possible with Exchange 2013 or not.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Hello all, I'm having quite a frustrating problem. I have to access my mailbox data from OST file, but don’t know why, while Outlook tried to access OST file it failed with an error  showing “Internal Error code=0000000E”- OST file cannot be accessed.
I had already tried restarting Outlook, rebuilding OST File, executing SCANOST .exe , Nothing worked, So don’t waste time suggesting these as a solution. I am in hurry so please help me out with a solution providing quick results.

Any help would be appreciated !!!!!

Qwerky Transport Rule Query

Hi All,

We have a customer who receive numerous automated emails for job applications which come in to a specific mailbox. The email comes from a "DoNotreply" email address but contains the applicants email address in both an attachment and also within the body of the email.

I would like to know if it possible to create a transport rule which is able to pick out the email address from either the body of the automated email or from the attachment that comes with the email and reply to this email address with a default reply/message.

I don't believe the attachment query is possible but I'm not so sure with regards to extracting it from the body of the email.

If someone could advise even if it is to confirm this is not possible, I would appreciate it.

Dan

Migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013 - Outlook cannot connect and OWA always redirects to legacy

I recently set up an Exchange 2013 server in order to migrate our Exchange 2007 mailboxes over. In DNS I have a 'mail' ecord that points to our new Exchange 2013 server. I also created a 'legacy' record that points to the 2007 server.  We also have a local CA and I generated an exchange certificate with this CA and installed in the 2013 Exchange server. Autodiscover SEEMS to be working. Errors I get:
On a migrated account - using Outlook to create a brand new profile-
"Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
On an account that only exists on the new Exchange 2013 box - new profile:
'The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action."
In OWA:
Trying to login with the Exchange 2013 only account it seems to try and login, sits and thinks about it for awhile and then the URL switches to the legacy URL. The login obviously fails with a "This page cannot be displayed" error.

Note from above the DNS alias 'mail' is the new server. So if I ping 'mail' I get replies from new server, nslookup shows new server also. But if I do :
nslookup mail.my.domain.name
it fires back :
Name: mail.my.domain.name.my.domain.name
Address: <address of OLD 2007 Exchange>
I would think this nslookup would show the NEW Exchange 2013 machine?

PLEASE HELP! If you need for information I will do my best!

Migrating from a 3rd party server

Hi All

I am currently planning a migration away from a 3rd party Exchange 2010 server (which I have no access to) to my internal Exchange 2013 box. It will be around 80 mailboxes. My expectations are that the 3rd party will run a New-MailboxExportRequest command and supply my with the mailboxes in .pst format. I will then run New-MailboxImportRequest to import the pst's into my ready and waiting exchange/mailboxes. Its just occurred to me that I am likely to lose email autocomplete/quickparts/signatures but want to check if this is correct and if there is anything I can do to retain this data

Any advice would be appreciated

thanks

Hi all,

I have a SBS 2008 server running Exchange 2007. I am wondering how I can receive all mail for the domain and not send external NDR's.

If someone emails "dsafafds@domain.com" and that user/mailbox does not exist... I still want it to deliver the mail to "admin@domain.com".

Thank you for your help!

eDiscovery PST Export Tool

Greetings All,

I currently have a mixed Exchange 2010/2013 environment.  I have a user on the 2013 side that was in litigation hold and is no longer with the company.  Process dictates that I export the mailbox to a pst and provide it to legal.  I have sucessfully ran an edsicovery against the mailbox.  When I try to export to a pst using the tool in EAC I get an error: "Export failed with error type: 'ExportFailedToRetrieveSearchConfiguration'. Details: The specified server version is invalid."

I ran all of this from the 2013 EAC.  I'm not sure where to go from here.  Bing isn't telling me much.  Any ideas?

I was able to copy the data to a discovery mailbox and export to a pst using powershell, but it would be much easier to skip that step.

Thanks,

Jack

OST file of one of the users has got corrupt, due to which he is not able to access his mails. He has asked me to provide him a solution to get access to his mailbox back. Being an Exchange Admin, I can convert the exchange EDB to PST, which the user can import into his Outlook to get the mails back. I have tried to export PST file from Exchange 2013 with powershell script but something went wrong and PST could not be exported. So, I am in a search of any alternate solution to Export Exchange EDB to PST.

Please help as I need to provide the used with PST file asap.
