I have a test server Exchange 2013 U8 and with domain Server 2012. I have a one live IP and i want to test my exchange server online.
My scenario is domain have one network card with local IP (10.10.30.2) and on exchange server have two network card installed one is local IP (10.10.30.4 for local talking) and one is live IP to receive outside emails. And i configured live IP MX record
on domain hosting site.
Note: I don not have a firewall.

When users try to change there password from OWA they get an error, you do not have permissions to change password.
From where do i configure permissions so that all my users can change there password from owa.

for some reason that I cant quite fathom some users occasionally get a pop up certificate warning when starting outlook stating that the certificate is not trusted etc. The name that is the problem is the primary ip address of one of my 2 CAS servers?? Ive checked all the SCP's SRV and set all the URLs for all the various bits and pieces to point to names contained within my SAN cert but it still pops up. does anyone have any idea where this may be coming from??

Hi everyone,
Could someone enlighten me on the fact that exchange server 2013 installation keeps giving me an "operating system incompatibility error" with regards to windows server 2008 r2 sp1 ( which is the OS i have installed). It keeps saying that i have to install sp1 (which is already installed) during the readiness check stage of the installation.
That`s the only error that`s preventing me from continuing with the installation and no number of reboots will take that error away. Any type of leads on this matter would greatly appreciated.
I have been asked to install server 2012 R2 on the only file server in the network. It is also necessary to run exchange server 2013 on the same server.
I realize there are various issues with this set up, but is it possible for the installation to work? There is only one server available. The network was using server 2008 Standard in the past.
The new server is a Lenovo TS340 with dual processors and 32 gigs of RAM. There are 15 workstations on the network.
so I have two exchange 2013 servers in a DAG group at a single site, being backed up daily to tape using backup exec 2014.
backup exec backs up from the passive database.
so here is the change. we are moving the 2nd exchange server to a DR site. currently the DR site does NOT have tape drive system, just the main site. so although I would ordinarily make the DR site the passive server, that might not be my best option due to backups.
it is a 50 MB want connection between the two sites, and this would slow the backups down to a crawl.
so my question is this, should I make the exchange server at the main site to be the passive copy, so backup exec 2014 backs up from that server, or should I just change the backup exec settings so that it backs up from the active server?
eventually we will have tape drives at the DR site, but not sure how soon that will happen

We are running Exchange 2013 with Outlook 2013 clients.
We created a Shared Mailbox and gave a couple users Full Access and Send As permissions via the EAC.
What we are trying to accomplish is to be able to allow the user with Full Access to be able to delegate rights to other users for this shared mailbox. However, I'm not sure if our method is even supported as I can't find any MS article doing it this way.
Once the full access user is setup, they'll open their Outlook and via the Account Settings page add the Shared mailbox as a separate account next their own.
After that, they will open the Account Information page and change the account to the Shared mailbox and open the Delegate Access page.
However, here we have been seeing different results for different users. One user will be able to get the Delegates window to open and be able to add users to it, but once they try to click OK it will give them an error stating "The Delegates settings were not saved correctly. Cannot activate send-on-behalf-of list. You do not have sufficient permissions to perform this operation on this object."
We then setup another user exactly the same way and when they try to access the Delegate page, they get an error stating "The Delegates page is not available. Cannot access Outlook folder."
Both of these users have been normal users with no Admin rights. I added myself (Domain Admin rights) to the Shared mailbox and was able to successfully add delegates to the mailbox without any problems.
Any suggestions?

My exchange server is playing up recently rebooted unexpcted error, frontend transport stopping and not starting same for message transport.
So looked at updating it from CU3 to CU11 but getting the mailbox server service is not installed on this server when it is and the only server doing all roles.
It also reports not schema user logged on as when i am even created a new account with sechema admin and the others to make sure not just the account at fault.
Was some other errors but resolved them by hotfixes etc
OS is Server 2012 fully updated
Only Exchange 2013 installed and ClamWin AV
I have managed to prep the domain but not the schema.
Also tried just updating to CU4 being SP1 just in case the big jump was the issue from CU3 to CU11.
Really need to get it updated and hopefully doing so will resolve the issues being experienced.
Any ideas/fixes would be appreciated
We're preparing to migrate our Exchange 2010 public folders to Exchange 2013. The KB article https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn912663(v=exchg.150).aspx mentions in step 8, "Test and unlock the public folder migration" to run the command below after we've verified that the migration is complete:
Set-OrganizationConfig -PublicFoldersEnabled Local
Should this be run on Exchange 2013 or the legacy Exchange 2010 server?

We're going to migrate our public folders from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013 where all our user mailboxes are now. I've been reviewing the Technet article, "Use batch migration to migrate public folders to Exchange 2013 from previous versions" for the required migration steps.
I noticed from reading other blog posts, the Technet article has different command for Step 6, "Lock down the public folders on the legacy Exchange server for final migration", this is what it says to run
Set-OrganizationConfig -PublicFoldersLockedForMigration:$true
The other blogs have these two commands instead
Get-PublicFolderMigrationRequest | Set-PublicFolderMigrationRequest -PreventCompletion $false
Get-PublicFolderMigrationRequest | Resume-PublicFolderMigrationRequest
