Uninstalling Exchange 2003 in a Office 365 dirsynced environment
I have a scenario where i need the right path.
We are having an Exchange 2003, we just did a migration to Office 365 (Exchange online), using MigrationWiz. Users are Dirsynced to O365. We are using ADFS. Everything works fine. The Old Exchange 2003 is not used any more.
Next step is how I uninstall the Exchange 2003 server, without tampering with the running Office 365 Solution. The server must die, it is on old hardware, and we have no need for it any longer.
Outlook 2013 Manual Archive doesn't work, only create empty folder
Hi all,
I posted this question before in Microsoft community and suggested to ask in this forum.
I cannot manually archive my email, i.e. all older mail than 1-Jan-2015. The process was running, but only creating empty folder under archive (pst) and all email still remain in current mailbox.
Details of my system:
- MS Windows 7
- Outlook 2013
- connect to exchange server through LAN
- received/sent time same as 'modified' time.
I can do manually moving email to archive PST, but I cannot do anything with my outlook when the process is running.
Please help....
Dynamic Distribution Group - Filter "Office"
Hi all,
Apologies, this one is wrecking my head!
We have a set of old DDL in exch2010 who filter the "Office" in users' AD and are now obsolete.
Now, the million dollar question... How do I created a DDL in Exch2013 that will filter the users Office location?
I know I can create a custom attribute, but we have a large turn over, and would like to avoid people "forgetting" to put the custom attribute when the suer is created, when the Office field in AD is obvious, and already part of our user creation process.
Any idea how to include this is the RecipientFilter?
Many thanks,
Fred
2010 and 2013 Coexistence Outlook Anywhere proxy to 2010 mailbox fails intermittently
Exchange 2010 SP3 rollup 8v2: three CAS/HT servers with load balanced VIP of mail.domain.com. That domain is used for all internal and external URLs except autodiscover sets the server value in Outlook to outlook.domain.com when using OA. This has and continues to work perfectly for Exchange 2010 mailboxes. These servers are running on Server 2008 Ent. All servers are virtual with 64GB ram and multiple 10G NICS iSCSI MPIO, Mapi, and Replication.
Exchange 2013 SP1 CU8: four multirole servers with a separate load balanced VIP of mail.domain.com (same as 2010). That domain is used for all internal and external URLs just as it is in the 2010 servers. These servers are running on virtualized Server 2012 R2 with the same config as the 2010 servers.
The OutlookProvider values for EXCH, EPR, and WEB are set to msstd:mail.domain.com
When I changed DNS to point mail.domain.com and autodiscover.domain.com to the Exchange 2013 VIP I received a number of complaints from end users that they either could not connect to their 2010 mailboxes or the connections would drop and not reconnect for extended periods of time.
I backed the DNS changes out and am now testing using virtual desktops with host file entries for both mail.domain.com and autodiscover.domain.com to the 2013 servers. What I've found is:
- A mailbox on the 2013 system will connect perfectly and immediately using Outlook or OWA and is rock solid.
- A mailbox on the 2010 system will sometimes connect and disconnect when using Outlook but works perfectly in OWA.
I've seen other questions about similar issues but have not found a solution that helps. Any thoughts are appreciated.
Can Someone View My Outlook if logged into my machine with their login credentials?
Hi,
If somebody else logs into my machine with their own log in, do they still have access to my outlook emails? Is there any way they could see these? They aren’t saved anywhere as PST files.
Thanks
Exchange hybrid and IIS ARR
Hello all,
I'm on the process of implementing Exchange 2013 hybrid.
I already have Exchange 2013 (full updates) in production for several months now and working fine.
My problem is that the plan is to go on the hybrid route.
I also have IIS ARR for all my Exchange requests and for that matter I have a third party certificate installed on the ARR server (DMZ).
I would like to avoid using this certificate (GoDaddy) on my Exchange server. Is there a way of configuring the Exchange trust between my Exchange 2013 On-premises with Exchange Online without using GoDaddy certificate on the on-premises Exchange server?
Best regards.

Updating from CU2
Hi all,
Took over an Exchange 2013 box that is running CU2. I have read that I should be able to install CU9 (the latest). Just looking for feedback if that is recommended, or should I take baby steps first. If I do CU9 any issues I should be aware of, that might happen going for such a big jump in updates.
If recommended to do incremental updates, what would be the path?
Thanks in advance.

get value of 'msExchHideFromAddressLists'
What I'm looking to do is get the value of 'msExchHideFromAddressLists' after I set it. I have many contacts in AD that I can use 'set-adobject' to set this value to TRUE so that they wont display in the GAL in Outlook 365. However getting the values of these 'msExch' attributes in my on-premise AD has been a challenge. Looking for ideas please....

Microsoft Exchange 2013 EDGE server (health manager service won't start)
Hi there.
Exchange 2013 EDGE server on CU11 level.
MS Exchange Health Manager does not want to start.
It's exactly the same error as here:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3017629
Is it possible that they have "repeated the bug in CU11"? We haven't done those registry changes yet per post.

Exchange Server 2013 Disclaimer HTML Formatting
Hi,
I was able to add disclaimer text to the exchange server 2013 but how can I modify its appearance, I want it to have font size of 10 and color gray. On the old exchange server management it was just there with proper text formatting, i would like to have similar format for my 2013 exchange server. So where do I go to modify its attributes ?

Do i need to create new trusted application for lync intergation in new site?

Some day ago we deploy lync and exchange servers in new site (let's call site2). And now i try Configuring Lync Server 2013 to be a Partner Application for Exchange 2013 by https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj688151(v=ocs.15).aspx

Found existing Partner Application "LyncEnterprise-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" with duplicate properties.
And i have question: Should i create additional trusted application for lync in exchange for new site or enought 1 application, that was created in site1?

Archiving Option for Exchange 2013 Standard Edition
Hi!
What are the options for bigger mailboxes in Exchange 2013 Standard Edition when the archiving license is not there?
Thanks.
import pst between domains??
We have a user with a rather large mailbox (10+ GB) on domain FOO in Exchange 2010.
The mailbox is desired to be in domain BAR into Exchange 2013.
If I export the PST of the mailbox from FOO, then import the PST into BAR, will any issues occur??
I think one of our users already did something similar via Outlook, would it be better to do the PST import via Outlook??
Or is it better to do the PST import on the BAR Exchange 2013 server??
Also, must I increase server memory when doing the PST import?? The BAR Exchange 2013 server has 12 GB RAM and the PST is at least this big if not maybe bigger.
This is not a mailbox move, which I know is different...
****4) And how do I fix the problem of once the PST is imported the person will not be able to reply to any emails sent from people at domain FOO??
Note: These are completely separate domains and servers, no co-existence etc.
Should I do mailbox MOVEs instead of pst imports?? so the problem in ****4) does not occur??
Thank you, Tom
Exchange 2013 CU9 :Message header value for X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: empty - no value.
Guy's - can somebody help, please? We have Exchange 2013 CU9 and use it to send messages via SMTP smart host (Server 2008 R2).
Some client's systems reject messages because they check message headers for value in X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: and our message header is empty.
I send messages through OWA and did try different types of Rich Text,Plain but message header still does not have value for
