Hello. I have passed the 70-341 exam and am now preparing for the 70-342 exam. I have a Standard license for Exchange 2013, however the 70-342 exam requires knowledge of Unified Messaging and some other features that are only unlocked with an Enterprise license. Does anybody know where I can get an Enterprise license for a lab environment? I am trying to avoid downloading the evaluation version and reinstalling.

I've 2 mailbox servers running in DAG. Server A hosts 1 active database while Server B hosts 2 active databases. One database in Server A needs to re-seed from Server B (source server). However when re-seeding (by using add database copy), there's an error:
"Error: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine."
In my DAG, there're 2 networks: MAPI (replication disabled) and DAG (replication enabled).
How can I fix the problem?
We have Exchange 2013 and most clients are using Outlook 2007. It seems like a lot of clients are not automatically downloading the OAB. However, some clients are receiving the OAB automatically.
The clients whose offline address books are out of date can download the OAB manually via send and receive without error.
This issue leads me to the question of how does Outlook handle the downloading of the OAB? I have read many articles that state Outlook will update the OAB every 24 hrs. What is not clear is whether outlook should be running for 24 hrs for the OAB to update or whether Outlook instead logs the last update time somewhere and updates when it is 24hrs past the logged time. Also, is Outlook supposed to update the OAB when Outlook starts or does it only update on this 24hr schedule.
Again, manually updating works perfectly, on the clients that don't update.
Can someone please provide me with some info on how the OAB download schedule works for Outlook clients?
Is it a random time every 24hrs?
Does outlook need to be running for 24hrs?
Is there a way to force an Update at outlook startup?

we just added a new group (Distribution list -DL) created on Office 365 . On adding this group in LDAP
authentication on the SAP BI 4.1 sever , initially we got the error <o:p></o:p>
Error Received earlier: " The sec LDAP plugin failed to get the dn for the
group " . This error got resolved by the mailbox team , by adding the DL
to the Office Premises sever. <o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
However on adding this DL after the mail box team added the DL to the on-premises sever, the users in the group is never reflected.
We are using this DL in the LDAP authentication on the SAP BI4.1 sever. PFA the screenshot of the users not reflecting for the group- BI-office-new.
what is the reason behind the users - not reflecting .

Long story short:
SITE 1 - domain1
SERVER1: Exchange2013 - with all the roles installed (15 DB's)
SERVER2: Witness server
SITE 2 - child domain
SERVER3: Exchange2013 - with all the roles installed (2 DB's)
We had configured DAG. All the 15 DB's from EXCHANGE2013 in SITE1 were "replicated/synced" thru DAG to EXCHANGE2013 in SITE 2.
2 DB's which are only on EXCHANGE2013 in SITE2 weren't included in this DAG.
Because SITE1 and SITE2 are dislocated and connected to each other with SITE-TO-SITE-VPN (the line between them has some ups and downs) we have decided that we do not wish that databases are activated on EXCHANGE2013 in SITE2 automatically.
The way we have added databases to be synced thru DAG from EX2013-site1 to EX2013-site2:

We had a downtime (hardware failure) with EXCHANGE2013 in SITE1 and this caused huge problems (which we don't understand) on EXCHANGE2013 SITE2.
Those 2 DB's on EXCHANGE2013 in SITE2 which weren't included in DAG were unable to mount (don't understand why?).
They didn't want to mount with error: that replication service is not running on EXCHANGE2013 SITE1 (due to downtime of that server).
We don't understand why this behaviour happened because those two databases weren't the part of DAG sync.
We had to manually remove every database on exchange2013 SITE2 from DAG sync, and then we were able to mount those 2 DB's.
Can someone please explain why databases which weren't included in DAG did not automatically mount?

I am currently doing a research for one of our customersn their current Exchange 2010 enviroment. The situation is as follow;
"Customer has an Exchange 2010 Exchange server ( single instance role ) and one mailbox database of 300 GB. I expect around 500 active mailboxes.
The mailbox database grows by about 15 GB per month. The customer wants more flexibility in possible disaster restore capabilities and sought advice particularly on the structure of the mailbox databases. The customer intends to take several mailbox databases
in use but do not know exactly what are the best practices herein.
One idea could for example be to all mail older than one year rewrite to a new mailbox database. Another idea could be to create multiple databases and here within themselves to carry out a distribution mailboxes. Perhaps there are other possibilities?"

Sometimes happen that when an email is sent the attachment disappear and I'm absolutely sure that it is enclosed!
In Sent email and in Exchange tracking log the mail doesn't have the attachment...
Is this happened to someone? Anyone can help me?

One of our clients is experiencing issues with bounced emails that get sent from our servers, our client owns an exchange 2013 server, we do not. The error in itself is obvious since there are users in the list that have a misspelled email-address however there is a side-effect that we would like to negate.
Our mail server sends mails in groups of 20. This means 20 recipients get a mail with the same message-ID at once. We do this to limit the use of capacity on our servers.
We noticed that whenever one of the 20 recipients is misspelled or incorrect and our client receives the 550 error the entire list of recipients don't receive the mail on our clients exchange 2013 server. This is inconsistent with other mail servers including the office 365 built-in exchange solution where all recipients except for the one with the wrong address get the message just fine.
We were wondering if some settings in Exchange 2013 could initiate this behavior.

Cryptic title I know, but this is a hopefully simple question.
Background: A 3rd party built our Exchange 2013 environment and, to be honest, screwed it up. We have inconsistent settings in a number of areas on the 2 mailbox servers.
The settings I need to know the correct values for are:
Receive Side Scaling
Large Rx Buffers
Small Rx Buffers
Rx Ring #1 Size
Rx Ring #2 Size
Additionally, the servers are on VMware, I have seen conflicting reports relating to the hyper threading setting, should it be enabled or disabled?
We have a Group Calendar set up in a Public Folder and it works ok - but we would like to be able to "invite" the calendar so events will show up for others to see. Currently everyone either does the Invitation from the "Group Calendar" or just copies the meeting to the calendar. I have full administrative rights and can do most things through the EAC but I've not used the EMC very much. I have set the Group Calendar to Mail Enabled but I'm not sure where the email goes and how to accept so it will show up on the calendar.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We are on Exchange Server 2013.
Exchange 2013 SP1 with a 2 member DAG (active/passive) 2 copies of DB and 1 Exchange 2016 edge server. Every since SP1 install, every time exchange has an "update" installed, the transport queue poisons itself over and over. In order to fix the issue, i had to stop the transport service and rename the queue then start the transport service. Thats not my question though. I only want to give as much info as possible.
Like i stated, we only have SP1, no CU's. So we need to update to CU11. 2 Questions:
1) since we have SP1, we don't need to install CU4 then CU5 all the way to CU11, right?
2) following http://exchangeserverpro.com/exchange-2013-installing-cumulative-updates/ we should update the active member first then the passive member or the passive member first then the active?

I am attempting to move 600 Mailboxes from my Exchange 2010 SP3 environment over to my Exchange 2013 environment all in all everything is going smooth Exchange is functioning properly.
I have successfully moved half of my users in which I found a problem with 2 accounts. The move status shows "FailedOther" at 95% complete. I have been searching the google for 2 days now and I have not found a solution to this problem. The user account still shows that is on our old Exchange 2010 server. I have attempted to force restart the move but that fails and it says at FailedOther.
Has anyone seen this problem before? My Environment is as follows
1 Server Mailbox server EMS - Mail box roles - Specs 8 Procs, 14 GB of RAM running on a VM Server 2012 DC
1 Server Cas server - Client access server - 4 Procs, 12 GB Ram running on a VM Server 2012 DC
Exchange 2013 CU1 and all accumulative updates since CU1 release.
I read some where this was because I didn't have enough resources for the move which I then bumped up the server to the current specs and rebooted the VM. I restarted the move with
Get-MoveRequest | where{$_.Status -eq "FailedOther"} | Resume-MoveRequest
Do I need to remove this move request and start from the beginning or should this command work?

We have a DAG with 2 Exchange 2013 multi-role servers. We are on CU9 patch level. Our load-balancer is a citrix netscaler. Everything seems to work expecept from when we reboot a server, then a lot of clients gets disconnected and they will not reconnect until the server is back online again. OWA and active-sync works all the time. We cannot see any errors in our event logs. Anyone that has an idea where to troubleshoot - Our netscaler is managed by an external company so if it's the netscaler that seems to be the problem we need some input to give them since they are saying that the netscaler looks ok...
