Hi all,
Can i upgrade RAM on exchange server 2010 (Runs on 2012 R2) ?
It currently has 8GB and the RAM is always on 95%. when you need to perform a task on it it's impossible and consumes time.
Thanks in advance to any helpful answer.

Hello,
I'm working on a Exchange 2013 general dashboard and I'm trying to see what metrics are important for an exchange admin point a view
So, What metrics you would like to see on a dashboard? (like CPU, memory, disk space, number of clients per server, emails send/receive per interval, etc.)
Don't worry about what to collect these metrics , focus only on final result
Thanks,
Marius
Hi all!
I have just installed Exchange 2013 CU11 and it didnt solved the 250 search result limitation (KB3093866)
http://somoit.net/exchange/exchange-2013-search-results-limited-to-250
Have you got the issue solved by installing the CU11?
Thanks
Hello
I have exchange 2013 running, and I have a third party application that requires a username and password along with SMTP TLS.
I configured one of the CAS servers as an internal relay and that works fine for all other application, printers, monitoring etc. but this one application requires username/password security
Any ideas how I can accomplish this ?
Thanks
In order to facilitate the transition for a divestiture, we've been asked to set autoreplies AND autoforward messages for transitioning users. I know Exchange doesn't let you do this with the smtpforwardingaddress, but you can get around that by setting
up an inboxrule (new-inboxrule) with a -redirectto of the SMTP address external address.
This has worked for me multiple times in the past, however I have 3 users where I'm seeing an issue with this setup - for some reason their redirectto is getting changed from the external smtp address to their internal X500 address (IMCEAEX-_o=Options_ou=Exchange+20Administrative+20Group....).
There doesn't seem to be a set pattern to this, and when I set it back to the correct value it will get changed at some point in the future (but just for these few users). I checked to see if the external email address anywhere in the Exchange org (as a contact
or mail user). Is there something I'm missing here?
We want to migrate from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2016 and I need some information about the numbers of the public folder accesses on the Exchange Server 2007.
Because, if nobody needs the public folders (not mail enabled) anymore (no hits within the last … month) I don’t migrate the data into the new Echange Server.
How can I audit the access of a public folder (Exchange Server 2007)?

Hi guys.
We have EX2013 and external smart host for gateway (no Exchange EDGE in environment).
We are trying to achieve to block ZIP files as attachment.
We have created a Transport rule:
which Works, but we would like to hide "message header".For example if someone sends an email to our company from external e-mail address he recieves notification that message has not been delivered due to ZIP attachment and then it sends also message header with our internal IP and FQDN of exchange server which is not a desired scenario...
If we configure another action in this same transport rule (to remove the header) we recieve a warning that is not possible to have two actions in one transport rule. Any hints how to achieve this?

It seems like every other time I install Window updates on our Exchange 2013 server, I get the blank screen on OWA and ECP and outlook anywhere refuses to connect. Going through the corrupt sslcert routine fixes it but that is a pain. Am I doing something wrong to cause this? Maybe installing updates is a mistake <just kidding>.
Any insight?

Hi All
Need your advise and thanks in advanced.
We're migrating mailboxes from E2k7 to E2013 for a while. (start from 2015/08)
After migrated about 500 mailboxes (total 800), one day (2015/12) we can't migrate user mailbox via ECP migration batch. And it show stuck in syncing or stopping. But we still can migrate user via powershell.
I've restart MRS service from MBX server but still the same. I also force deleted these migration batch and retry again.

Normally, most of our mailbox databases are active on one particular mailbox server.
Today we activated them on other servers (so that we could perform maintenance on this server).
Now, EAC won't work and gives the error above. Any ideas?
Bit worrying because the idea of DAG is that the database can be active on any of the servers. Also I dont understand the connection between loction of active database and EAC?
Hi all,
I experiencing a problem to configure Outlook 2013/2010 clients to use AD account that is different than the AD account connected to Windows session.
In fact, when I manually set up the account with all good parameters for use with Exchange 2013 CU9, the following message appears :
"An error occured concerning the security certificate of proxy server. The name of the security certificate is not valid or is not corresponding to the name of the site our_Exchange_public_URL. Outlook cannot connect to proxy server. (Error code 0)."
As I click OK to this message, when I fill account credentials they are not recognized.
FYI, the Outlook configuration runs correctly with autodiscover if I set up the same account that is connected to Windows session.
I equally tried on various PC, and the problem is the same.
I know what I want to do is no more possible with Outlook 2016, but I don't know why this problem occurs with 2010/2013 versions of Outlook.
Thank you.

FXE
Hey Team,
I am trying to go through this TechNet link here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd979810(v=exchg.150).aspx
and I was able to get up to step 5 before becoming confused on what I was supposed to do and how it was going to work. (from the link)
5. Create a recovery database (RDB) and restore or copy the database and log files containing the data you want to recover into the RDB
If I create a recovery database and then try to copy my edb and log files over from my previous database (now restored as a flat file lets say) - wouldn't that not work?
would I have to create the RDB using the same edb file name as the name of my existing production database? sorry this is such a confusing question, but I really want to make sure I get it.
Example: Database Name E12k3-DAG2 - Edb Name: e12k3-dag2.edb - database crashed
Database Name DTDB - EDB Name: dtdb.edb - database created as a dial-tone db
Database Name RDB1 - EDB Name: ????? - database created as recovery database
Thanks,
Robert

i have a rather long list of transaction logs for a database due to several unsuccessful backups. trying to do backups will result in another failure as i have to cancel the backup because it is taking far too long to finish (that's for another post).
so i've decided to manually remove the transaction logs. i've been searching for 2013 documents to guide me but i keep coming up with this linkhttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/240145
the document mentions that it applies to Exchange 2003 and downwards only. i'd like to ask the Exchange experts if i should go ahead and follow this document (thinking the document is still relevant to 2013 because it wasn't updated)?
