Removing shared mailbox from user outlook after moving the user to Office 365

Dears,

My on-premise exchange version is 2013 and we recently setup Office 365 with Hybrid configuration. Now we moved some users successfully to O365.

One of the was having a shared calendar mailbox  in the outlook added due to auto-mapping when giving full permission.

The user now moved to the cloud. After removing user request to remove the shared mailbox from her outlook view.

We tried by removing the full permission for the user on the calendar mailbox but this action didn't clear the mapped mailbox in users outlook.

In AD , user doesn't have anything msExchDelegateList but in msExchDelegateListBL, I can see the entry for this mailbox.

But this attribute is only able to VIEW no permission to remove or edit it.

Please advice

Re-enable AutoDiscover URL Internally

Hi All,

I recently ran the Set-ClientAccessServer -Identity “SERVERNAME” -AutoDiscoverServiceInternalUri $NULL command on 4 new Exchange 2013 servers running the CAS and Mailbox server roles while I was in the process of updating the certificates on them (in an existing Exchange 2010 environment in preparation for a migration), so that clients would not inadvertently connect via autodiscover and receive an untrusted cert warning.

I am now ready to add these servers back into autodiscover and I am uncertain whether or not I am running the correct command. I assume the command to re-enable autodiscover is the following:

Set-ClientAccessServer –identity “servername.domain.com” –AutodiscoverServiceInternalURI “https://domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml”

I just want to be sure this is correct. Likewise once this command has been entered successfully, how can I ensure clients are correctly connecting to the new servers via the autodiscover service?

Many thanks!

We have an SBS 2011 server running Exchange 2010. It also has AD and DNS. I see error 4030 logged repeatedly with the same details.

Process Microsoft.Exchange.InfoWorker.Common.Delayed`1[System.String]: Unable to find any replicas for free/busy folder EX:/o=MYDOMAIN/ou=first administrative group.

I joined my company recently and I am the only IT person. I am not sure if they were migrated from 2003 or 2007 to 2010. The email is working but I want to resolve this error. I do not have much experience working with Exchange. There is no Exchange 2003 or 2007 anywhere now. Clients are Outlook 2010 or above.

Thank you for your help.

DAG IP Address

Last night I got an alert in SCOM of a duplicate IP address on one of my Exchange servers.   Digging into it I find that the DAG IP address is now (I never noticed this before) showing up on one of my mailbox servers when I do an "ipconfig /all". All of my IP addresses for Exchange servers are static IP addresses that I've setup.    Is this normal?   All appears to be operating normally...

which ports for load balancing?

currently our load balancer only monitors the ping reply of our CAS servers. it just so happen that though the server is online, it pings, the IMAP service is not therefore the load balancer didn't shift to the other CAS server.

i have in mind to add for monitoring ports 25 (smtp), 143(imap). is there anything else i should add for monitoring?

Arbitration Mailboxes in a hybrid environment

Hi,

Planning to put in a couple of servers purely for hybrid use and move all the mailboxes in our main site to Office 365 then remove the old servers, moving the arbitration mailboxes to one of the hybrids, plus ADFS, AAD and so on. Subsidiary sites will stay on on-premise Exchange.

However I had a thought about availability of the arbitration mailboxes. My questions are:-

1. If arbitration mailboxes such as the Federation mailbox for example are down for any reason what problems could this cause for hybrid working? Would free/busy lookups etc. fail?

2. If this would present a problem would the best idea be to put in a 1 database DAG for the hybrid servers and put the arbitration mailboxes in that database?

Thanks

Exchange 2013 Server Edge - WebServer NDR 'Access Denied '

We have an external Webserver, that has many applications that sends emails to recipients internal and external to our company.  The return address (from) for these emails has our email server domain.  External recipients are getting the email's however internal recipients are not.  I did multiple test emails from that server with the from and to email address was the same (my email address):  the result, I got an NDR saying "Remote Server returned '< #5.1.0 smtp;554 5.1.0 Sender denied>'".  I am assuming it is doing it's job:  thinking I am spoofing.  Is there anyway that emails can come in from that webserver.

We have and internal Exchange 2013 CAS/Mailbox server and an Exchange 2013 Edge server on our DMZ.

We do have an SPF record for our domain, which has the External IP address of the WebServer in question.

Hi

We have a group in office365 where users view that shared calendar in that group.

We want to use it as a calendar to update all events, birthdays etc for their reference.

But we are unable to add any event without notifying all the members in the group.

Can you tell me how to add a calendar item in the group shared calendar (in office365) without sending email notifications to all its members?

Thank you

Good day! Please help to implement the scenario. Need some query or solution. There are several organizations, each organization needs to make your address list.
Let's say there are 3 organizations. ORG.A, ORG.B, ORG.C
Conditions:
1) Members ORG.A can see the address list ORG.B, ORG.C and send emails to them but do not consist in ORG.B, ORG.C
2) Members ORG.B can see the address list ORG.A, ORG.C and send emails to them but do not consist in ORG.A, ORG.C
3) Members ORG.C can see the address list ORG.A, ORG.B and send emails to them but do not consist in ORG.A, ORG.B

Exchange 2013 hybrid - AD FS or Password Sync?

$

Hi, I’m currently working to an Office 365 migration project for a small/medium organization (about 150 users), running Exchange 2013 on-prem.

I’m a bit confused about the directory sync method to use, AD FS or password sync.

Provided that using password sync is definitely easier and eliminates a single point of failure, I’d like to know which kind of limitations -if any- password sync has in a hybrid scenario.

In other words, why would I choose AD FS over password sync?

Can a hybrid configuration work using only password sync?

I read this https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/65c8bb9b-6ae8-49c7-bc9c-ddea2237a2aa/hybrid-calendar-sharing-with-ad-fs?forum=exchangesvrgeneral and it seems that there aren’t limitations, but I’m not sure about it.

Thanks in advance.

Seamless transition to Volume Mount Points.

My organization has four exchange mailbox servers forming one Database Availability Group. The problem is that in the mailbox servers, we have depleted all the drive letters but we want to add more databases and logs. We want to use mount points. However we want a seamless, efficient way to get all the drive letters to point to mount points. How can one go about switching to mount points? The servers run on windows server 2008 R2.

Meeting room - Allow delegate to change meeting time

Hi,

Exchange 2013 with latest updates / Outlook 2010

I have a meeting room, let's say, Room1. User, User1, books it. NowUser2 needs to change meeting time.

I added User2 as delegate for the Room1, granted him owner rights for the calendar.

When User2 tries to move the meeting in the room calendar, a warning appears, stating something like he is not a meeting organizer and although he can move the meeting no updates will be sent.

Is there any way to let User2 move the meeting and inform other participants about that change?

Adding User2 as delegate for User1 is not an option.

Exchange 2013 : Autodiscover & ZeroConfigExchange (Outlook 2013)

Hi,

1. Does enabling Exchange Autodiscovery actually set the ZeroConfigExchange to 1?

Refer this article: from reading enabling Autodiscovery actually set the ZeroConfigExchange to 1. This is for Outlook 2007/2010 only or it is application for Outlook 2013 when Autodiscovery is enabled on Exchange 2013?

2. Under what circumstances that we need to manually create the ZeroConfigExchnge as per this article?

Thank you

Active sync issue

Hello

We have 2 Exchange 2013 CU7 servers.

Sometime I get an error message on phones that says it cannot log in.

I can see from event log that

[Eas] The number of outstanding requests for guard TargetBackend("exch01.top.domain.no") has exceeded the max limit 150. Current request will be rejected.

Anyone know what limit its refering to? And should it be set higher?

Deleting recuring calendar entries

Good afternoon,

I have a user who has recently changed email address (tupe'd from a sister company), and now he cannot delete calendar items that he set up.

his account on our system is the same, just his email address is now changed and in the account area of AD he is now @****.ac.uk rather than  @**.net

We are running Office 365 and client emails are set up as Exchange accounts

Is there a way of him being able to delete these or is there a way of admin being able to remove these appointments and meetings?

Kind Regards

Adam
