Exchange 2013 and the idea to move public folders to different Public Folder mailbox issue.

The idea was to move a public folder with its subfolders, but this ain't happening right.
We have chosen to use (Move-PublicFolderBranch.ps1 ).

The idea was to move \Mailboxes\FOLDER1\BunchOfSubfolders.

So we do not wish that public folder mailboxes is also being moved in this process, we want only FOLDER1 and its subfolders to be moved.

We have ran the command:

.\Move-PublicFolderBranch.ps1 -FolderRoot \Mailboxes\FOLDER1 -TargetPublicFolderMailbox SecondaryPublicFolder

Now the script immediately throw an output that it's going to move also MAILBOXES folder, that's not ok.

Hi all, 

I created a mailbox on-prem and this can be used in CRM using auto discover.

But there is another requirement of an impersonation account - Is it like a service account that has rights on the CRM online subscription? 

What role does it have on exchange. 

I have been asked to create impersonation on Exchange. 

Seems a bit confusion - what should i do in this case should i give the same mailbox created with ad account impersonation rights on exchange?

We have started moving clients to a setup where we use a single name for all Exchange servers (i.e. mail.domain.com).  So ActiveSync/OWA....etc all use the same domain name.   For Autodiscover we use a SRV DNS record this allows us to use activesync/outlook anywhere fine.

We have been using this for a few years now without issue but recently we ran into issues with Outlook 2016...  Specifically with a non-domain computer, we cannot seem to get Outlook to connect to Exchange using a Non-domain PC and if I understand it correctly is because Outlook 2016 connects to Exchange different, it no longer allows us to manually enter proxy settings.

Seems to me that a computer not on the domain using Outlook 2016 should still be able to connect to Exchange... but I cannot seem to figure it out.  (we are using Exchange 2013 SP1 CU14)

Is there a way (some kind of Outlook rule) to achieve automatic movement of public folder content (for example older then 6months) to a different public folder?

Since I introduced Skype for Business, I am getting the Below warning when I check the mailbox delegation fo rany user:

The Issue was resolved once i rebooted all exchange servers along with AD servers, but again this morning I am getting the above Error , any suggestion would be appericiated

I have a site that is on domainOLD. The rest of my organization is on domainNEW. There is a valid trust between the two. We need to move them off domainOLD to domainNEW. We are deploying a DC at their site under domainNEW. We will be moving all of those PCs off domainOLD and into domainNEW. My problem is that many of the domainOLD users have linked mailboxes. This means they already have an account on both domains, and their mailbox in Exchange 2013 is linked back to domainOLD with domainNEW as an additional SMTP.  Some of the users also have both a linked mailbox at domainOLD and a user mailbox at domainNEW.

Soon, the domainOLD domain controller will be demoted. Then there will be no domain for these accounts to be linked to at all. I don't know what to do to convert them over before hand.

We had a hard crash on our exchange server last week, to the point where I was forced to run a repair and eventually things started to work. For some strange reason several mailboxes are completely gone and not sure how or why. This week while creating a new account we notice that after creating the new  user in AD and then trying to create the new mailbox no user is returned on the selection page. 

we have other users that while the have a mailbox they wont connect to it returning errors that the folder was not validated. 

has anyone seeing this problem. Was thinking to run a defrag on the database to see if that makes a difference.

Our antispam isn't catching some emails that appear to come from our domain but aren't.   We don't block based on SPF due to finding so many customers and vendors that don't have their SPF set correctly.   Is there a way to have exchange verify emails that appear to come from our email accepted domain list the actual list of email addresses on our system?

1. remove all public folders

2. remove system public folder

3. remove secondary hierarchy mailboxes

4. remove primary hierarchy mailbox

I'm having some problems searching emails in Outlook or OWA. Some emails are missed in search results. These emails have several msg files attached and each of that msg has attachments too (pdf files for example).

I have tried to fully rebuild search index on exchange server. Test-ExchangeSearch founds no errors. But still those emails are missed in search results.

Get-FailedContentIndexDocuments gives me "The attachment limit was reached." on some emails. Are there any indexing limitations regarding attachments quantity? I know that there are some file type limitations but I think it's not my case.

Any ideas?

I want to find messages with the exact subject "eFax Report", not subjects containing the word "eFax Report".  I've tried all of the following search querys and get the same results which include subjects such as "FW: eFax Report","Aug eFax Report", ect. 

Any ideas?

Has anyone seen a massive increase in incoming email that is being blocked by EOP. We went from hundreds of emails being blocked in September to over 60,000 emails being marked as spam based on their IP in October.

It doesn't look like EOP gives you much info on these blocked emails either

I have recently added a naming policy to deny the use of = and , in names of groups. When using the shell I get the expected results. When I use the EAC it adds the -IgnoreNamingPolicy:$true when it creates the group.

How can I turn this off?

If I am thinking about this correctly, I need to remove the parameter from the role?

It appears that search-mailbox searches the entire message including the contents of attachments

Is it possible to exclude the searching of attachments/attachment content when performing "search-mailbox"?
