DAG database is now Active on both servers! Help?

Hello folks,

We activated our secondary server (caretaker) in the DAG for the database in ECP servers/databases.

Migrated our primary server to different location (using VMware SRM), started up primary (paladin), but unable to fail the database back.  I ran these command on Paladin in attempt to resolve.

net stop clussvc

net start clussvc /forcequorum 

Now the database is Active on both servers and not working right, with error.  Our email is still functioning though.  Any suggestions for how to proceed?

We were used to host website on our servers but we recently changed it with the third party resourcing , now we had some emails for contacting on the new website that are being sent and received through our exchange server , i am getting this kind of errors in my domain controller and exchange server too, if someone can help me i would really appreciate it.

I don't know how to import PST file in Apple Mail.

I need to import PST files in Apple Mail format. Actually, I am going to switch from windows to mac system and I am looking for the way out to transfer my outlook PST data to apple mail.

Is it possible to get outdated CU versions?

I have an Exchange 2013 CU11 server that has gone down, and to use the /mode:recoverserver switch I need to use the same CU version.

Unfortunately MS only have the last 2 versions available for download (CU20 and CU21 at time of writing).

Does anyone know where I can get the outdate CU I need to recover the server, or is it possible to use the latest?

I need Exchange 2013 CU11.

Event ID 74 and 12014

Hi,

I notice the event ID 74 and 12014 on both the mailbox servers but there is no impact on the services so far.

How can i fix it.

Windows server 2012 upgrade to windows 2012 R2 on Exchange server 2013

hi all , 

i have one question , we have exchange server 2013 running on windows server 2012 node and we had another node that run windows server 2012R and we need to make a DAG and when run the cluster healthy check before proceed it is giving and error regarding windows level .

my question can we do the upgrade for windows 2012 on the current exchange server to make it Windows 2012 R2 without any issue or there is any concern ? i.e. the in place upgrade for the window .

appreciate your support and experience

Hello

There were 3 CAS , 2 MBX. I decided to optimize and make 4 servers with CAS-MBX roles. Now deployed the first server, configured everything by analogy with already available CASes. In the end, when you i've started outlook, received the error "there is a problem with the security certificate of the proxy server. The name of the security certificate is not valid or does not match the name of the destination site mbox2.hq.pharm.com. Outlook cannot connect to the proxy server."

Certificate name *.pharm.com. On all CAS servers installed and previously had no problems.

Shared Mailbox Cross Forest Exchange 2010 to 2016 on prem

Hi folks,

I migrate from one Forest A to Forest B.

Ive a two way trust, mailbox move, free busy and mailbox delegations in coexistenz works perfect.

But if I want to map an Mailbox from a user in Forest "A" with a user in Forest "B" and Client in Forest "B" i get a credential popup.

If I log in with UPN from this same/old User Account from Forest "A" I can map the mailbox.

But why comes this credential popup?

In RPC Log in Forest A I see the following

Looking for the easiest way to import a dump of our users GMail mailbox archives into the new Office 365 Exchange Online Archive mailboxes for the users.

We have 11 TB of data and Google gave it to us in Mbox format.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Exchange 2013 CU

Hello,

We have a customer who needs to upgrade from Exchange 2013 CU2 to Exchange 2013 CU21.
This is for Enterprise Edition.

From the information I've seen, the CU upgrade path (not including all the .Net Framework updates etc) should be;
CU2 > CU4
CU4 > CU15
CU15 > CU19
CU19 > CU21

Access to CU4, CU15 & CU19 is no longer available via the Microsoft website.

Called Microsoft on the Global Support number. Microsoft were unable to provide a link due to issues within Microsoft.

Microsoft directed me to the following URL;
https://support.microsoft.com/oas

This method of support requires a form of support contract, even though Microsoft were aware that we didn't have a contract, we were still directed to this URL. 

Please could we seek assistance in obtaining a copy of the CU's listed above?

Disk trouble while adding server to DAG

Hello

Included two new servers to an existing cluster and while adding disks for databases I noticed that the numbers of system disks are the same. Because of this, when i add a disk to the second server, it is not defined as the server's own disk, but as a cluster disk.

Is it possible to change this number and won't it break the  servers?

Which is the best way to grant GrantSendOnBehalfTo to a SharedMailbox for multiple Users?

Hi there,

we have multiple AD Sites and on each Site one MultiRole Exchange 2010SP3 Server. I have a question, regarding GrantSendOnBehalf Right Management for Shared Mailboxes. 

First type/usage for SharedMailboxes:

Shared Mailbox and one GlobalSecurityGroup for FullAccess on SharedMailbox.

The Global Security Group contains each Member who needs access to the Mailbox and has the FullAccess Right of the SharedMailbox. 

Second type/usage for SharedMailboxes:

All Settings of the first type. 

Additionally 1 universal security Group, which contains the Members who need to send E-Mails outside the SharedMailbox. 

This Universal Group with Type "Security" has the right "GrantSendOnBehalfTo" of the SharedMailbox. 

This works fine.

But, i´m a bit confused, about the two "Group Types" which can be used in EMC. There are "Security" and "Distribution". Both types are working well in my situation. I can use the Type "Security" or "Distribution" for Managing the "GrantSendOnBehalf" Permission. 

If i compare two groups, one "Universal Distribution Group" and one "Universal Distribution Group, Security Enabled"

There are a few attributes which are different. 

GroupType --> Universal,SecurityEnabled / Universal

MemberDepartRestriction --> Closed/Open

RecipientType --> MailUniversalSecurityGroup/MailUniversalDistributionGroup

UMDtmfMap --> 

Can someone explain a best practice for my situation?

I did restart Microsoft Exchange Transport and Microsoft Exchange Frontend Transport but getting the same errors, i did restart exchange server, but the same. Im running this command daily and all services are success.

What else i can do to fix this issue.

Failed/Bounced Message Export

Hi,

We have a Network Printer using our Exchange 2013 as a relay, using a virtual mailbox as Sender (non-existent mailbox).

One of the scan-to-mail jobs was around 55 mb and sent to a Gsuite User, where their limit as per Google is 50 mb, so the message bounced back. The problem is we don't have the physical document no more and we need to retrieve the failed email to extract the attached scanned file. Any help on that?

Hi,

This is regarding the immediate update of Calendar Invite.

Issue is , Whenever Executive Assistant is sends Calendar invite that is not getting updating/immediately reflected in CEO's Calendar, requesting you to please help with troubleshooting or share Tech articles that can help us in resolving an issue.

similar issue is mentioned https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1569517-outlook-shared-calendar-not-updating here , but this is not helping.

exchange 2010 failover clustering error 1207 and 1135

I have two-server in DAG. one of the servers is logging two event id 1207 and 1135.

Cluster with name "ClusterName" could not be brought online. The computer object associated with the resource could not be updated in domain "domain.local" for the following reason: unable to update password for computer account. 


The text for the associated error code is:  RPC server unavailable.


and 

"Cluster network name resource '%1' cannot be brought online. The computer object associated with the resource could not be updated in domain '%2' for the following reason: %3.

The text for the associated error code is: %4

The cluster identity '%5' may lack permissions required to update the object. Please work with your domain administrator to ensure that the cluster identity can update computer objects in the domain."

In the Exchange admin center under compliance management -> in-place eDiscovery & hold does the option to delete a search delete the email in the search or just the search itself? Do you have to use Remove-MailboxSearch?

possible to save sent items as PDF automatically?

Hello -

We have a few users here who send out emails, but then open up their Sent folder, find the items sent, and save as PDF locally and then upload to SharePoint.    I am trying to find a way to automate some if not all of this cumbersome process.   I can set up rules to move the items, but not sure if its possible to save email as PDF without some type of macro or 3rd party tool.

EWS Throttling reset counters

A customer of mine has an EWS application that makes reads and writes to 10k+ mailbox calendars.

We cannot give the account application impersonation as it has explicit calendar permission only.

The account is being throttled after 3-4 days of operation, we keep upping the policy to where it is now 7X the original settings. The current EWS throttling settings are shown below.

EwsMaxConcurrency : 54

EwsMaxBurst : 1800000
EwsRechargeRate : 300000
EwsCutoffBalance : 21000000
EwsMaxSubscriptions : 10000

IsServiceAccount $TRUE

When the throttling limit is exceeded (usually MaxBurst) the budget number goes very high and the application builds up a huge queue. 

I am wondering firstly how to reset the EWS counters for the account used by the application so it starts again from zero?

I assume the counters and limits are stored in the EWS application pool on the server hosting the mailbox of the account used by the application?

The current process to restore service is to move the service account mailbox to a different database which clears down the counters then increase the limits again.

We dont really want to go unlimited on the policy as we dont want to impact our exchange servers but there is very little information on how to scope throtting policies or how to "reset" them when a limit is reached and requests start to queue
