when a mailbox gets disabled, how long should we wait before we can reconnect the mailbox back to its AD user account?
i disabled a mailbox this morning at around 9am and it's almost 6pm the mailbox hasn't appeared yet to allow us to reconnect it.

Please can someone help me out, currently in my company we are using exchange 13 users are using win7 with outlook without any issues, we have now recently merged with a new company lets say company B so the users in my company are connecting the company B via VPN for file access and all while doing so users in my company are experiencing that after a while outlook gets disconnected while working over the vpn.
i have tried static route on windows 7 but not having much luck.
Please help.

Currently we add contact directories to peoples phones that supplement their contacts with company contacts, vendors, on call phone numbers etc. We do this by creating a email account adding the contacts to the mobile device then adding the mail account to their iphone, and only syncing contacts.
This works well however at times users will get their default contacts set to the supplemental contact directory and when they begin to add contacts on their phone it adds it to the supplemental directory.
Is there a way to make that contact directory read only?
Or does anyone know of a method in exchange (2013 on-premise in this case) to push out supplemental contact directories. Or perhaps a third party piece of software to accomplish the same thing?

I know trend is on-Premises to O365 but I want to know,
How can I import O365 emails to an on-Premises mailbox. we cannot have domain trust between them. We acquired a company which have O365 for emails. We are an on-Premises shop for Exchange 2013 CU20.
What are my options?
Any lesson learns and experience will be help full.

in our organization IT support staff creates email address but in our organization policy is that there should be no numeric email address like johnalina2@contoso.com
But in exchange when creating email address if duplicate email address already present then it creates same email address with a number itself
i would like to disable this policy/rule that exchange does not create an email address with a number either itself or no one can create intentionally too.
Can anyone please guide me how to do it ?

We having public folder in exchange server 2013 and hope this came from exchange server 2010 . i suspect public folder not migrated from Exch 2010 to 2013 . its hold in container "Microsoft exchange system object". how we could see content of such public folder .

Is it really not safe removing a mailbox that already "synced" for migration to the cloud? It's an option available, but I read the article below and made me hesitant.

Our customers want to know exactly what the import mailbox process does. I used the import mailbox command with PST file, and I extracted the log file but unfortunately it displays Japanese.
My client is asking: "will the import process send mail (send PST file) from the exchange server to the mailbox?" If not, please explain in detail the import process.

I have performed a migration from Exchange 2013 to Exchange Online multiple times this week. Unfortunately, one users mailbox stalls every time i try to migrate it. The Get-MoveRequestStatistics Returns:

The job makes it to 94% complete and Stalls due to "UnknownReason"
This migration batch only has one mailbox being moved. Furthermore, I can create other migration batches and they will "Complete" with no issues.
My Luck is that the mailbox that I am having issues moving is the most important in my organization.
Has anyone experienced a StalledDueToSource_UnkownReason before? Any help would be appreciated.

User leaves organization, after 3 month, mailbox export to PST so it's possible to check in future.
When the mailbox size is above 2GB, will it be safe to export this to PST ?
What will be the best way to handle this kind of situation?

Outlook allows double booking a resource (meeting room) even though the Resource Policy is showing UNCHECK of this option "Allow conflicting meeting requests".
We've tried to check and uncheck, but still not working. I believe it used to work initially, not sure why it stopped working all of a suddent allowing people to double book the room.
BTW, it's Exchange 2010, not 2013 but it's not in the list of selection.

I just wanted to get some clarification regarding Exchange Server. I have a website domain sponsored through SquareSpace and want to give emails through that specific web domain. If I have a server and Exchange is installed, can I somehow create email accounts for those users without cost and with the linked web domain? I am new to Exchange so just wanted to clarify. If this is the case, wouldn't I need to adjust some DNS setting via the website editor? These users would not use cloud email services, but instead logon via remote desktop and view their emails that way. Thanks in advance for your insight.

two exchange 2013 servers in a DAG group.
had issues with DAG, so rebooted both exchange servers.
DAG came back up (YAY!)
BUT - powershell no longer works on the second exchange server.
anyone seen this before? all I did was reboot, no changes, nothing.
PS works fine on the first exchange server after reboot, just the second one having an issue.

We very recently attempted to change our Internal & External Exchange namespace from outlook.domain.com to mail.domain.co.uk.
We changed all of the URLs, updated all the required DNS records, deployed a new Cert and everything was going well during the post change testing. Outlook 2016 clients where launching fine, OWA, mobile phones, everything looking good.
We hit one snag, Outlook 2010 clients would not connect to the new name space, we got the classic "The Server is unavailable - Retry | WorkOffline | Cancel" If you deleted the profile and recreated it was fine, but we couldn't have hundreds of users all calling into the the SD not being able to open outlook (they wouldn't think to recreate their profile on their own)
We had to roll back.
We are using MAPI|HTTP so the old Group Policy where you can set the RPC Client access server was not relevant to this scenario. We had no way of forcing 2010 it seems.
Can anyone suggest anything we may have missed OR know of a way you can get the outlook profile to kick into a re-autodiscover type of thing?
