Exchange 2010/2013 SMTP Relay port 587

Hi all i am trying to configure SMTP auth for an external service to send emails through our Exchange environment.

I am able to to get this to work but only with the default connector "Client ServerName". I would like to create a custom connector for to use for this so we have a way to track the emails through our system easily through the SMTP Protocol logs. However if i create a new connector scoped for the IPs supplied by the vendor, email stops working from the external source. All i can see in the SMTP Rec Protocol logs is the below and then it terminates.

Is it technically possible to accomplish what am i looking to do with a custom connector? I have configured it identically from an Auth and permissions perspective to the default "Client ServerName" connector but it still doesn't work.

SSL wildcard certificate for single domain installed on exchange server with multiple domain

Hi,

probably this is a silly question, but anyway i try.

I have wildcard certificate for domain xxxx.it 

Our exchange server host both yyyyy.it and zzzzz.com email addresses.

when users that have only xxxx.it email, they manage to use outlook without problems, if the user who has other 2 domains in email address they receive a warning like tajta :

autodiscover.yyyy.it

saying that certificate name does not correspond to the name of the site.



is there a way to let outlook to not check it  (while  we ask for wildacard certificate, multidomain)

i hoped it could help, buit each time the user log in he continue to receive the warning

Display sender's name on messages from exchange 2013 to gmail

Dear MS Technical

I have email John Smith<J.Smith@abc.com>. It was created in Exchange 2013.

When i send local Lan exchange display name ok. John  Smith<J.Smith@abc.com>.

But when i send to external system  email example: gmail do not display sender's Name in AD 

only display email J.smith@abc.com. I need display Name in AD John Smith<J.Smith@abc.com>

Please help me

Kindly give me advice based on the below snapshot with regards to certificate, how can I correct it and note that I'm using exchange 2010.

The error quoted below is showing of Exchange Management Console on exchange certificates

Can I change Exchanger server product key to Standard from Enterprise on installed Exchange server?

I already installed Exchange server 2013 and installed product key of Enterprise license.

But customer said. He want to change product key to Standard.

Can I change product key without reinstall Exchange? How can I do it?

I have tried to add the option to request:  -BadItemLimit '100' -LargeItemLimit 50 -AcceptLargeDataLoss -AllowLargeItems
I run New-MailboxRepairRequest for mailbox and database: -CorruptionType ProvisionedFolder, SearchFolder, AggregateCounts, FolderView
Open mailbox with MFCMapi and delete rules

Please help how to solve this problem?

Can I change Exchanger server product key to Standard from Enterprise on installed Exchange server?

i am getting the following error when trying to update my OAB

Information Store Randomly stops

Hello,

I had this happen twice before. the Information Store randomly just stops or quit mid day. One time we had to restart the exchange server in the middle of the day. Just now, I had to restart the exchange server right before opening day.

Is there something I should check? I don't want this something like this to happen again during working hours.

what is the best possible way to handle the growth of Exchange DataBase 2013

Hello All,

First of all, hope everyone is fine in current world situation, Stay Home and Stay healthy.

I am writing this post, after looking at many threads written here or other communities but couldn't find the correct answer for my issues.

Basically I have in my company Exchange 2013 Server with 5 Databases and we do have VeeamBackup as well which back-up the exchange and truncate the logs as well daily, 

even with everyday truncation of Log, Exchange Server Database Size is almost 3 TB and its growing. I would like to ask you what is the best approach to handle such huge databases, we are already using online Archive from exchange but I find it not much Helpful.

I am also concern about the Maintenance of such high databases, is there easy way to offline arichiev or how the bog organisation is dealing with such situations

Default MRM Policy not not accepted

Good day!

Added an Archive for some users. New folder with archive is appeared, but Retention policy which i added for mailbox is not apply. Wait more then 2 days

Tested:

1) Start-ManagedFolderAssistant for mailbox severeal times

2) Migrate DB to another Server

3) Restart server

4) Test-ServiceHealth - no error

5) Get-RetentionPolicy "Default MRM Policy" | FL - (IsValid - True, Tags Visible)

6) Test through OWA

7) All DB and Index - without errors

8) RetentionHoldEnabled $false

Previosly its worked well for all users. It's start after ended place on disk C.

What else can i check/do ?

Relay legacy exchange server to new office 365.

We migrated from exchange to office 365 about two years ago. We have a legacy exchange server that we use as a relay for our database application. The application sends out emails to clients and internal users.

The relay works because people outside our organization receive emails from our application. The issue is no one inside our organization can receive emails from our application.

To explain better lets say our domain is abc.com. The domain on the legacy server (relay) is still abc.com. The domain in office 365 is abc.com. When emails go thru the relay they seem to try and deliver emails to abc.com to the local server and not relay it to the office 365 account. Any other email domains pass thru the relay no problem.

How do I get the relay to pass the domain abc.com thru to office 365?

I did an awful job explaining this. Hopefully someone will understand what I am talking about!! Thanks in advance.

Exchange Server Rule - Include External Sender email address into Warning disclaimer Text

We have a warning disclaimer rule in Exchange server 2013 that is working perfectly so far.

As you see the last sentence where I was trying to add external sender's email address. How can I include external sender's email address to it?

I checked this for a possible solution which suggested to use "%%email%%" attribute, but it came out as empty value.

Exchange 2013 CU23 get-mailbox Watson error

Hi all!

After CU23 update some commands like get-mailbox generates a watson error:

Hello,

When trying to install the EMC on my win10 machine. I get the following error when verify the exchangesetuplogs file

Adding a second domain with wildcard cert

Hi,

We need to add a second domain in our Exchange Server but we are using a wild card certificate. Do we have to change the certificate to a multiple SAN Certificate to let the other domain users access owa, outlook, autodiscover by this new domain?

Secondly, is creating MX record will be enough for the new domain.

Hi MS Community,

I hope you can help resolve this issue, that i kept seeing on the Exchange 2016 Server Windows dashboard.

Its how been how many days and up to now, no solutions is found.

The description for Event ID 2158 from source Microsoft-Office Server-Search cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

Configure IIS for multi-tenant / multi-domain

Hi all,
My environment : Exchange 2013 server CU23 (Client Access + Mailbox Roles) , hosting domain abc.com , SAN certificate : mail.abc.com (for OWA , ECP , OAB, Outlook Anywhere ...) , autodiscover.abc.com

Now I want to host mail for 1 more domain : xyz.com (xyz.com users can use same services as abc.com users) , I purchase another SAN certificate : mail.xyz.com , autodiscover.xyz.com

How should I configure IIS for my goal ? I assume steps to do :
- Copy C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy to HttpProxy2
- Add new web site in IIS , point to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\FrontEnd\HttpProxy2
- Convert to application with appropriate application pool
- Config SSL , Authentication settings , assign SAN Certificate of xyz.com domain
- restart IIS

Please give me some advice, thank you very much.
