import public sa certificate

Right now i have exchange 2010/2013 environment. just have 1 exchange 2013 cu8 in our environment. i used public sa certificate where i export from exchange 2010 server. However, i'm not able to import into exchange 2013 where it said that certificate has exist. i can confirm that certificate is not exist and i used EMS to confirm that with get-exchangecertificate command.

To resolve this issue, i import the pfx file using conventional way which is using certificate mmc and importing into personal -> certificates location where after that exchange 2013 able to pick-up that cert automatically. so, my question are:

1. is it ok my step ? do i break anything ?

2. after assign services to that cert, how do i un-select it ? because i can't do that because the 'tick-box' is disabled.

Exchange 2013 Availability monitoring

Hi All,

I'm sort of stuck on the Exchange 2013 Probe Monitors, Monitors such as Imap, ActiveSync, Pop3 and FrontEndTransport keep failing. To fix/check the issue I'm following the below links:

For example typing in Invoke-MonitoringProbe ActiveSync\ActiveSyncCTPProbe -Server server1.contoso.com | Format-List

I will get the following error:

WARNING: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index

Not sure why I'm getting this error.

For Imap testing i.e. typing in Invoke-MonitoringProbe IMAP\ImapCTPProbe -Server server1.contoso.com | Format-List

I will get the following error:

WARNING: No mailboxes were found to use in the CTP probe.

I'm absolutely stumped on why I'm getting these errors.

I'm running my Exchange servers on Hyper-V 2012 (My Hyper-V 2012 is clustered and managed by VMM 2012 SP1)

I have 8 Exchange 2013 Enterprise CU6 nodes, with 2 DAGS

Each Exchange server is running 4 cores of Processor and 24Gig of Ram (Not using Dynamic Memory)

If someon can shed some light on this issue it would be most appreciated.

Resource Room Acceptance Messages

We work with international users, some of whom, unfortunately, do not always understand every word of the English language. Is there any way to modify theentire message of when a resource mailbox accepts a meeting request, and moreover, is there a way to differentiate between whether the meeting request was approved or denied.

Just to be clear, i'm not talking about adding an addendum to the message like shown here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124505%28v=exchg.141%29.aspx, but rather the entire message.

Network Service account and Exchange 2013 services

I installed Exchange 2013 CU8 on two 2012 R2 machines, but the services that run under Network Service for Exchange won't start. If I put Network Service in the local admin group, the services start. Prior to putting it in the admin group, I gave it full permission on all Exchange folders, but that didn't help...thanks.

Exchange 2013 servers not sharing Free / Busy

Some of the users on EXMB01 are not able to see users calendar Free / Busy information on EXMB02.

In our exchange 2013 (CU5) environment the following server: mailbox EXMB01 and EXMB02, CAS EXCAS01, EXCAS02 and EXCAS03. Server are Windows server 2012, mail domain is mail.domain.com and does not match our internal network of local.domain.xyz (Non standard was setup before me).  All setting point to mail.domain.com for mail configuration.  External cert from a CA was added to all three CAS servers.

USER1 on EXMB01

USER2 on EXMB02

USER3 on EXMB02

Was able to get USER1 to see a USER3 can see all Free/Busy, subject, location now (only set the Free/Busy time) .  Added USER02 see Free / Busy, subject, location (also only set Free/Busy time). Added my own calendar to the USERS01 to the USERS01 outlook and can see my Free/Busy, subject, location.  I only have by default Free/Busy time set no one else added.

What settings to I check first? Is their a PowerShell command to reset a users calendar permissions?  Is something not set correctly on the servers?

Recommended Mailbox Size

Sand as Exchange 2013

Hi,

I have configured send as and send on behalf for one user but when he sends mail he gets that mail in his sent box. Is it possible if I send mail as someone else that that person get mail in his sent box becuase I am sending mail as him?

Will Exchange purge Transaction Logs after a successful Full Backup if a database copy is offline?

We have an Exchange environment with 3 copies of all databases.   One of our copies/nodes is currently offline (Service Down) because the data center is undergoing maintenance and will be for a few days.

After backups complete successfully I am now seeing where the transaction logs are not being purged reliably, only about 1/2 of the time and I'm wondering if it is because Exchange wants to use them to replicate the database to the offline node. 

What is strange however, is that Exchange is purging the logs about 1/2 of the time, on databases where one of the nodes is offline.

Any input on this or thoughts?

I've already used the eseutil.exe to find the checkpoint of where I can safely move the logs, however I don't find any information on when I can delete the logs or why it is failing 1/2 of the time.

I would like to delete the logs if I can safely do so, also, If I have to reseed the databases on my third node that is currently down I don't have a problem with that.

My question is I downloaded the migration scripts for exchange 2013 will those same script work with EX2010? Because I see that you have to run those scripts on both 2010 and 2013.

We have two CAS servers and 1 mailbox server.

OHS-EXCHCAS (Client Access, Hub Transport)

SP2 upgrade complete

SP3 upgrade complete

Rollup 9 Update complete

OHS-EXCHFE (Client Access, Hub Transport)

SP3 Update Failed

Rollup 9 not complete

OHS-EXCHBE (Mailbox )

SP3 UpdateFailed

Rollup 9 not complete

We successfully upgraded  OHS-EXCHCAS (Client Access, Hub Transport)

We get the following error while upgrading OHS-EXCHFE (Client Access, Hub Transport)

I've noticed that on occassion when I connect to my Exchange 2013 CU 1 server, the server will respond with "451 4.7.0 Temporary server error. Please try again later. PRX5" after I submit an e-mail for delivery.  It accepts the sender, verifies the recipient, asks for data and fails only upon submission.  Trying again right after the failure usually takes care of the problem what that's not a fix.  What's causing the problem? Anyone else seen this?

Not Show Send AS

I have migrated a exchange 2003 to echange 2010 and now the users that have a permission to send as is showing when send e-mail with another account.

I imput how i receive the e-mail and the option that I want to get out.

I want that do not show the person that send a e-mail

Can I do not show the user that send e-mail?

Exchange 2013: Correcting mailbox delegation - Full Access

Not sure how to correct this issue.  I have an Admin that setup the Exchange 2013.  The admins account is now added to every new account (Resources, shared mailboxes etc.)  I know how to remove the auto mapping so it does not show in the admin OWA and outlook. 

I would like to just correct the setting so the account is not automatically added. (Tester is not the real name of the account.)

Exchange 2010 to 2013 Co-Existence Reverse DNS Issue

We are running a Exchange 2010 and 2013 coexistence.  Mail Flow is fine on the 2013 side, but for mailboxes still on 2010, some are getting mail delivery failures only for certain external addresses.  One of the deliveries says the Sending IP does not have a valid rDNS.  The IP Address it sent back is the main Public IP and not the Public IP assigned to our mail servers.  Not understanding why the 2013 mailbox users can send to these external addresses no problem when 2010 mailbox users are being routed through 2013.  Thanks for any help.

exchange 2013 DAG and site resiliency - can it be done with 3 servers?

we currently have two exchange 2013 servers running on 2008r2 at our main office.  they are in a DAG, everything replicating correctly.

we are going to add a 3rd (virtual) 2013 exchange server at a remote site in the near future.  that site is being setup for DR, we have a 50 MB connection to the site.

I have been doing some research today on site resiliency, but I have not seen any examples where you had only 3 exchange servers.

can I do site resiliency  with only 3 servers?

will I have to have a 3rd site for witness server?

all we are trying to do, is to set it up so that if site 1 with the two exchange servers go down for some reason, site 2 with the single exchange server will then be available to keep email flowing throughout the company.

Exchange Distribution Groups not updating in Active Directory

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is intended behaviour or not, but any distribution group we create in Exchange ECP does not update in Active Directory Users and Computers. Any particular reason why?

For example, we have a user group called "Managers" and we've recently created a new group called Area Managers. We've since moved some people out of Managers and put them in Area Managers, however in Active Directory all we see is the Managers group with all the old managers in there. The OU for the Area Managers group has been set correctly.
