We have OAB Issue for Exchange 2010 Users in our Organization.
We have Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 Coexistence.While Checking in Exchange Server 2010 Server OAB properties in Org Configuration--> Mailbox-->OAB Properties -->Distribution we are not seeing any CAS servers and Its Grayed Out.
Please let us know How to add Exchange 2010 CAS in Exchange 2013 Web distribution.
I have noticed a "strange" issue since upgrading our 2013 environment to CU7. We have multiple reports of users who have the exact same out of office reply for both internal, and external senders. The message appears normal for users within the organization. But for users outside of the organization (GMAIL, Outlook.com, Yahoo, etc) the text in the auto reply is pre-cursed by a Question mark so they message would end up looking like this for example:
?I am currently out of the office
I thought this could be a Font issue, but I am looking at their auto replies through the OWA interface and that question mark is NOT present in the text. If you add a blank line before the text, you get TWO question marks before the text. No idea why it would only affect the outside of my organization setting, but no idea what to do for the issue. Anybody seeing this bug?
We have been in co-existence mode for a while with Exchange 2007 and 2013. I'm about to remove the Exchange 2007 MBX server (single) all together. Being that we don't use Public Folders, would there be any danger of just deleting the public folder database instance off the Exchange 2007 mailbox server? I do see Outlook clients show that they are connected (Connection Status in Outlook).The OAB is all on WebDAV and shared from the Exchange 2013 side of the house.
I see a number of documents talking about migrating PF from 2007 to 2013. Any concerns with just deleting the database all together?

Hello,
I need to expand the virtual volume of the Exchange 2013 server. This volume, just contains the exchange install, as well as all the DB's logs for Exchange. This is in a VMware esxi 5.1 environment, and the Server OS is Windows 2012 standard.
I know how to expand the volume, and add it to the server. Really can I do this live with exchange running, or do I shutdown the exchange services. What is the safest way?!

We have had some users complain recently about appointments that have remained in their outlook calendar, after they have been declined by the room resource, most likely due to another conflicting calendar appointment.
I can see the logic behind this behaviour - since the meeting organizer would, in most instances, still want the meeting to go ahead, they would then only need to change the room resource without having to resend new meeting requests to everyone all over again. Instead, only an update to the appointment would be sent out.
On the other hand, if the organizer happens to overlook or miss a declined meeting request from the room resource mailbox, the appointment stays in the users calendar appointment and is none-the-wiser. This is where our issues have stemmed from recently.
Does Outlook/Exchange have an option to automatically remove or cancel appointments that are declined by the room resource?
If not, would this be considered in future updates as a feature request?

Using split-dns for our domain contoso.com

Currently we have setup Exchange 2010 as in image below, is this a Ambiguous URL scenario?
(I think not because the CAS array FQDN is different)
Question 2a)
Cause we can utilize split-dns we use same internal and external URL (internal DNS points to Exchange and external DNS points to reverse prxoy), is this supported/best practise and is this done by more people?

What will be pro and cons for this setup (sharing same URL internal and external)?

Why would/should we go for different external and internal URL?
Question 3)
If we use same URL internal and external, how does "Exchange" know if we hit the internal or external URL (does it look at source IP)?
When I run searches using ECP they seem to work.
When I run the same search and try to save the data in the Discovery Search Mailbox it just hangs and nothing gets written.
One little caveat this was working 4 days ago and now does not

currently i have co-exist environment for exchange 2010SP3/Exchange 2013CU8. DNS still pointing to Exchange 2010. I'm in the midst of testing mail flow where i encountered issue of sending email from exchange 2010 can't deliver to Exchange 2013 mailbox. We have no issue if email send from Exchange 2013 to Exchange 2010.
What i observed is email stuck in Exchange 2010 queue with error "451 4.4.0 Primary target IP address responded with: ""421 4.2.1 Unable to connect."" Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts"
i tried few steps like telnet 25 from exchange 2010 and it works. i'm able to send email via telnet command but user that using Outlook 2010/2013 having problem sending email to user in Exchange 2013 mailbox. (just 1 direction only)

Exchange 2013 SP1 with a 2 member DAG. Starting today, administrator is not able to login to ecp. When you put your username and password in and click sign in, the page flashes the password field is cleared with no error message. The same thing happens of the server with the passive copy. I followed the advise on this thread:

and the same thing happens. I restarted the server with the active copy, same problem. Email is flowing both ways (send and receive). On the server with the active copy, these errors are in the application log after the restart:

When attempting to move a 1.5GB mailbox to a remote site over one of our more congested high latency links (very remote site on satellite connection 1000ms +) the move request gets stick at the finalization stage with the follow error in the get-moverequeststatistics

TimeoutErrorTransientException has occurred. The system will retry (1/60).
This error loops continuously and locks the user out of their mailbox.
I suspect their is a timeout setting in MsExchangeMailboxReplication.exe.config file that I can adjust to resolve this issue but I am unable to find any reference to this specific error that would indicate what timeout is associated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have a user that has 8,583 folders in Outlook. I was attempting to do a mailbox move for the user and the move reached 95% and was working to complete the move and then it rolled back to 0%.
I ran the following command to verify any corruption:
New-MailboxRepairRequest -Mailbox user@domain.com -CorruptionType ProvisionedFolder,SearchFolder,AggregateCounts,Folderview -DetectOnly
The results returned as: Online integrity check for request a547a36a-a2d0-4d55-881c-06a8a201470c completed successfully.
So no corruption was found.
I also ran the following command for the move: New-MoveRequest -Identity User@domain.com -TargetDatabase DataBasexx -BadItemLimit 1000 -AcceptLargeDataLoss
Even with the bad item limit set to 1000 and no corruption found the move request did not complete.
A few questions with this,
1. Has anyone ever moved a mailbox with 8,000 plus folders and had it happen with success? How did you handle the move?
2. Any suggestions for making this move successfully?
3. Has anyone had a move request hit 95% and then go back to 0%? Why did it happen, how was it resolve?

The Public Folder Mailbox is still here but nothing is listed under Public Folders.
