Exchange 2013 MAPI over HTTP, testconnectivity.microsoft.com failure

Setup
Exchange 2013 CU10
Two servers with DAG
HA Proxy with Public IP Addresses and NAT
Exchange servers and AD with Private IP range 192.168...
Autodiscover is setup using the HTTP redirect method and testing just Autodiscover succeeds

Outlook Clients 2013 and 2016 work perfectly however when run the Outlook connectivity test I get the following failure:

Testing MAPI over HTTP connectivity to server mail.publicdomain.com
MAPI over HTTP connectivity failed.

Additional Details

Elapsed Time: 123 ms.
Test Steps
Attempting to resolve the host name ex02.internaldomain.lan in DNS.
The host name couldn't be resolved.
Tell me more about this issue and how to resolve it

Host ex02.internaldomain.lan couldn't be resolved in DNS InfoDomainNonexistent.
Elapsed Time: 123 ms.

What I don't understand is where is the DNS trying to resolve that from, is it trying to resolve that internal name from outside the network, then I'd expect that to fail, although I could have sworn that I got no failures the first few times I ran this test. MAPI has been configured and both internal and external url's are configured to the public address mail.publicdomain.com, Outlook connects fine and is functioning, for both 2013 and 2016, although I upgrade my machine from 2013 to 2016, so can't tell you the exact version number if that makes a difference.

Running Test-OutlookConnectivity -RunFromServerId EX01 -ProbeIdentity OutlookMapiHttpSelfTestProbe and Test-OutlookConnectivity -RunFromServerId EX02 -ProbeIdentity OutlookMapiHttpSelfTestProbe from both servers also succeeds.

The connection status within Outlook shows the protocol is HTTP with server name values of https://mail.publicdomain.com/mapi/emsmdb/?MailboxId=someguid@domain.co.uk <- the .co.uk is a redirected domain

Any ideas?

Hello,

I am having an issue with my Exchange 2013. Whenever my users try to send an email with attachments bigger than 50MB the email is not delivered.

My send connector is set to "*Maximum send message size (MB): 300".

migration with edge transport

Hi

I'm planning an migration with two cloned edge transport server in DMZ & 2 CAS+MBX servers cloned in LAN network.

I want to add an BES 12 server in DMZ to manage blackberry mobiles.
Is Edge transport easily communicate with bes server?

Architecture DAG

Hi

I need some advices.
I've got an F5 Vip to manage load balancing for 2 edge servers in my DMZ, and I want to create a DAG setup for my two exchange servers in LAN.

Each exchange server have 2 roles (CAS + MBX).

Is it create any problem to setup a dag for these servers ?
I need a witness server for my DAG, but problem, which server can I use for it ? My DC ? I don't have specific server for this use.
Can I use my edges server? The thing is they are in dmz..

ecp supported browsers

Exchange 2013

i find that the management console, https://mail.acme.com/ecp , only supports IE and Firefox. i've tried Edge and Chrome but it only works in a limited fashion. take for example editing an email address, when i click on the pencil icon to edit nothing happens. but same process done with IE and Firefox it works.

Active Sync and Exchange 2013

Hello, 

Since 4 days, I have 1 user, he can't access his email on his iphone (ios 9.1).

Error message : unable to connect to server

When I add his account to my iphone, i cant sync until yesterday then same error message : unable to connect to server.

When I tried Exchange Connectivity tools, all is green.

My account on his iphone works well

His account on 3 different iphone doesnt work

His account on my android work well.

So its seems to be an issue with his account and iphone (ios).

I have no idea, maybe corrupted items in his mailbox and ios is more picky than android...

How do I see which Enterprise cal features beeing used?

Hi,

When Running Microsoft Assessment and Planning Toolkit it shows that four user mailboxes has Enterprise features enabled. How do I see which features are enabled on these mailboxes? I have tried comparing these mailboxes with other mailboxes that don't have the Enterprise feature enabled

Looking in the Exchange 2010 Organization Health it shows:

Probably easy enough to copy smtp address afterwards.

Only other option seems to be manual creation.

reconnecting a mailbox - only Inbox is populated

the first thread on this is How to reconnect a mailbox

i was able to successfully reconnect the mailbox to a dummy account and found all emails in the Inbox, however i found that the other folders like Sent Items are empty.

is this the normal behaviour for reconnected mailboxes?

Distribution Groups, Exchange2013

Hi guys

Would there be any reason why none of my distribution groups can receive external email?

Any emails send internally reaches these distribution groups, but all external email respond with :

Recipient email address is possibly incorrect.

Any ideas as to the cause of this?

iSCSI Network causes CAS issues

Hi,

We have an issue with 2 Exchange 2013 Multirole Servers (CAS and MBX, one DAG with 3MDBs)

Both of them have a LAN NIC, located in address range 110.180.0.0/16 (this is one subnet for clients and servers, cross site)

Both of them had (i disabled this) an iSCSI NIC located in 110.188.0.0/16 (no gateway, dns, dns registration off,... as recommended by MS for cluster networks).  This network is used for HP Storevirtual emails and alerting.  Also Backups run over this nic.

When the iSCSI NiC is enabled, our outlook clients connect very slowly to exchange. It takes a 30 second average to connect (loading profile...).  When the nics are disabled on both servers, the outlook clients connect perfectly.

Actually, we need the iSCSI connection, but then again we also need exchange...

Any tips or ideas or solutions we can implement?  Everything is configured using MS's best practices.

Hi.

Is there a limit on the max number of users a Exchange Standard Mailbox Database can support ? I understand we should keep the size below 200 GB for better performance.

Can we deploy Exchange 2013 or 2016 without the Edge server role ? Will my Exchange Infrastructure function ?

Are certificates really needed to deploy Exchange ?

Exchange ActiveSync

I completed a migration from Exchange 2007 to 2013. After decommissioning the 2007 server and moving log files to another location. I had a couple users receive an error on their iPhones "unable to verify account information".  Under IIS --> Authentication, I enabled Windows Authentication on the Default and Back End websites and restarted IIS.  That seemed to work, however if I add myself to someone else's iPhone the same error appears again "unable to verify account information".  What I thought was the solution only seems to be just temporary.  I have checked the log files under inetpub and I don't see any access denied errors for those specific users.  I was curious if anyone else has experienced this and might have found a solution?  If you need me to provide more information let me know.

I am trying to create a Mail App to support Corporate Outlook Web mails. From outside office network, I use https://webmail.CompanyName.com to access my emails.

Out exchange server version is 2007. What's the best way to access an exchange server from off-premises?

Force a save into "sent Items" folder for sent messages

Hello,

Is it any way that someone could force (statically or programatically) a save into Sent Items of the mailbox from which the message is sent for each sent message.

A type of replacing:

        public void Send()
        {
            this.InternalSend(null, MessageDisposition.SendOnly);
        }

with

        public void Send()
        {
            this.InternalSend(new FolderId(WellKnownFolderName.SentItems), MessageDisposition.SendAndSaveCopy);
        }

on Exchange server on-premises ... or better, even in the cloud if possible ??

Users cannot access Exchange Accounts from outside network.

Need help in Exchange server 2010 as the users cannot access Exchange accouts from outlook 2013 as it shows disconnected to them and the OWA webpage shows "This Webpage is not available".

Need help urgently on this issue.
